Default what is the most upbeat movie you've ever watched?

Because we shouldn't always think about Sadness.

For me, one of the most upbeat movies is Wing Chun (1994; Michelle Yeoh/Donnie Yen). The villains are likable, and I don't think anyone died in the movie by violence. Simply a feel good period piece with excellent action sequences.

The Beatles' A HARD DAY'S NIGHT.

Just great filmmaking and a joyous feeling all around. The Beatles were at the top of their game musically and surprised the world by being unexpectedly good comedic actors as well. It's almost impossible to feel depressed while watching this film (the only misfortune being that nobody can watch it *all* the time).

You know, there are over 250 replies in the sad movie thread, but only 1 reply here! Why is it that people want to talk about sadness over happiness? Are Asians extremely sentimental?

I have recently watched the Korean movie, "The Good, The Bad, The Weird". It was probably the best upbeat movie I have ever seen. It is entertaining as a hell.

I would have to say the old Chow Yun Fat comedies. "The Diary of A Big Man" cracked me up so much when i was depressed. There were twists every 10 minutes and even a Bollywood-like dance scene in the middle.

In a way, Chow Yun Fat was doing Stephen Chow's act before Stephen even got started in the business.

The interesting thing was that Chow Yun Fat did wacky comedies to serious gun-heavy action thrillers all in the same day between shifts - I have to admire his flexibility and professionalism. I love Chow Yun Fat, which pisses me off now cos he gets non-challenging roles.

Meanwhile, I am glad that Stephen si exploring dfferents methods of expression. Looking forward to Kungfu Hustle 2 if it ever comes around. But his early movies werethe best of the best.

BTW, another very upbeat movie is "92 La Legendary Rose Noire" with Maggie Siu, Big Tony Leung, Wong Wan Si and Patricia Fung, and last but not least, the ever hilarious Teresa Mo. Lots of action and parodies and even a musical. Not one to miss - please watch it.

I like those goofy Chinese New Year movies that the HK movie industry churn out. It's always very festives & funny.

I find this comment funny with that snailly look!

I like Stephen Chow's Saint of Gambler! At the poker table, Chow displayed his jovial usual self with his strike of ESP that sometimes used up. Funny as hell!

That movie always make me laugh

I love the nonsensical "Eagle Shooting Heroes" starring Maggie Cheung, Veronica Yip, Leslie Cheung, Jackie Cheung and the 2 Tony(s).

"Only Fools Fall in Love" - Jacqueline Ng and Sean Lau is another movie I have enjoyed watching.

Stephen Chow's "Chinese Odyssey part 1 and 2". Except for the ending in part 2, the two installments are funny.

And "An Ideal Husband" by Rupert Everett, Cate Blanchett and Jeremy Northam makes me feel better after watching it. It doesn't make you laugh like crazy but it's one of the feel-good movies that make you smile.

I have to say Mulan I. Does it count here? Anyway, from the chicken scene, me and friends laughed and laughed until their rock n roll end.
