ipod problem

my ipod is refusing to sync?
i have it plugged into my pc, but it isn't connecting...
so its not turning up on itunes...
i can't even find it on my pc...
its charging, but the normal charging sign isn't up -
the battery power just increases itself.

any help is appreciated...

it turned out that the battery was dead...
i took it to the genius bar at my apple store
and they just gave me a new one, since it was under warranty.
