    Yeah,
In addition, I hope the story take place during the Tang, Sui, or Han Dynasty.

What else could bring him out of that 40-year dormancy other than dire financial need?
I don't think money is the reason. Jin Yong is too wealthy these days since Mainland China has been adapting series based on his novels non-stop.

Even multimillionaires have felt the pinch of this economic crisis. Many people who were multimillionaires as recently as a year ago are struggling just to make ends meet now.

I don't know that this is the case with Mr. Jin, but the timing of his surprising alleged return to novel writing is eyebrow-raising.

May I just add that calling Jin Yong a multi-millionaire is a bit of an understatement. He sold how many copies worldwide? 100 million? How many adaptions since decades ago? Over a hundred? Money is not an issue.

You over exaggerate the economic crisis. Yes, life is a bit more difficult for the average joe, but for the millionaire or richer, life is good as usual.

Hope it's set in one of the earlier dynasties. I think there's lots of unused material there. Or maybe 獨孤求敗's story.

As to why he may write a new story, I'm speculating that he may have realised after LYS's death recently that he may not have that much time left. So, he wants to tell stories that he hasn't told so far.
