Enjoy all! I went on a big translating binge this weekend so all of you can enjoy the finished version of this novel. The final two chapters have been posted above, and with it, the Bordertown Wanderer is complete, complecting the quadfecta of Sentimental Swordsman, Ruthless Sword (the story of Li Tanhua), Bordertown Wanderer (the story of Fu Hongxue and Ye Kai), Horizon - Bright Moon - Sabre (the stand-alone follow-up story of Fu Hongxue), and Eagles in September (the stand-alone follow-up story of Ye Kai), all of which have been translated here, on this very forum!

It's done! I can't believe. I have so much to catch up on. Thank you very much for the time all the translators had put in this series of stories. Now off to reading, but once again thank you.

Most excellent! Big Thanks to Master Ren.

The last 2 chapters were brilliant. I especially liked that bit about 'love from a woman out of pity will never last'!

And I think Gu Long was worried you guys would have the sabre over-take the dagger as your favourite weapon so he ended the book with another overdose of Dagger Li fanservice!
Its BIxie Jianfa Gawdammit you guys!!!!

Bravo!!!! Great thanks to Ren for completing the translation. You did a wonderful job and we truly appreciated it.

The ending was bittersweet. All those secrets! I feel so bad for FHX.

Ooh, that was gratifying... was like scratching a 3-year itch =)

I was anticipating a fighting resolution to the whole thing, but think that Gu Long's "revelations" kind of endings are even better... Hooray! Wanna read it all again!

    Yippee!!! All done.

There is still one more novel (Flying Dagger, Flying Dagger Appears Again) that is loosely linked to the series, featuring the grandson(?) of Xiao Li. I have not read that myself so I don't know if it is interesting.

Woah, Ren .. !?! I did not know you finished this novel. I haven't had time to visit other stories lately. Really, I should STOP translating and START reading ...

A BIG thank you to all the translators: Bliss, Justin Lu, Blue Lotus and Ren Woxing!! (Did I miss anybody's name?)

As always I go away for a while and great things happen. Thanks to everyone who worked on this translation.

And Foxs, I hope you don't stop translating-- maybe we can find a way for you to translate and enjoy other's translations.

Ultra-super-mega thanks! After each chapter, I was already screaming, "What happens next?" Reading each successive one all at once was so gratifying. heehee

Lots of interesting tidbits. So confidence is the key to winning duels. Dagger Li had confidence, but Shangguan Jinhong lost due to overconfidence? How the hell do you stop a lightning saber with a dagger? That's almost equivalent to shooting a bullet to stop a bullet. I still wonder how some of the "dead" assassins would recognize the voice of the mastermind. Or did they incorrectly guess Ding Chengfeng?

We do something like that with modern missile point defense systems on warships. They shoot down objects that move faster than bullets with bullets. So yeah.

I went ahead and read the entire thing from beginning to end in one go (while compiling it into a single document). This story I feel is actually more coherent than Sentimental Swordsman as a single mystery. I wasn't sure whether to lol at the LXH love in the last two chapters but it was still a fun read =)

Chrono, would you be willing to send me the combined story? I'm trying to get all four of the books compiled and PDF'd. Thanks.

Being late etc, but thanks for the translation.

I always feel that this novel treated Ye Kai in a better light than FHX.

I agree. But, OTOH, I think TYMYD treated Fu Hongxue in a much better light than JYFY treated Ye Kai (which basically turned him into a bit of a dumbass). TYMYD, in my mind, cemented Fu Hongxue (as well as The Sabre) as one of the most awesomest of Gulong characters.

JYFY imho makes Ye Kai way less cool than he actually is in this story.
