DGSD '81 was inaccurate to the novel in the final episodes/chapters, but the series depicted Hui Juk in the later episodes as an expert at identifying (though never using) poisons. Whenever Kiu Fung or Deun Yu had a question regarding an unfamiliar poison, they would turn to Hui Juk, and Hui Juk was always ready with an answer.
In the series, Hui Juk seemed to have expert knowledge not only of Siu Yiu Sect and Sing Suk Sect poisons, but ALL poisons. Was this the case in the novel as well? Did Hui Juk acquire an encyclopedic knowledge of poisons?
