Default Could we revert the "Social Groups" page to its previous configuration?

When the Social Groups were first added to our list of options, I quite enjoyed using them. They were very easy to use and get into.

But about two months or so ago, we switched to a new format for the Social Groups front page.

The current format is way too fragmented to follow. I don't know if any of the Social Groups to which I'm a member has been updated recently or not (something that was featured in the original version). Instead, I'd have to click on each Social Group with which I'm associated to see if there's been any updates.

This fragmented format has discouraged me from using the Social Groups feature as much as I did previously. Does anyone else feel this way? Should we revert back to the previous, more intuitive format?

Can I take this as a petition to change the social group back to it's old format?

I second to this suggestion. Though, I reckon, it'd be quite a mess given now we have logos and all.

Is there any way that we, the residents of SPCNET, can help in the process?

I strongly feel the same way! The previous version was much, much more intuitive and user-friendly, and it was fun to use.

Should we revert back to the previous, more intuitive format?
I certainly hope so. Hopefully it wouldn't be too much work for SC to revert back.

Un-retired myself just to reply about this matter.

The social group changes is not a plugin where it can be remove just like that. It's a vBulletin version upgrade from 3.7 to 3.8.

The upgrade is not exclusive for social group only but also lots of other features. Check it here, here and here. I'm sure SC will not revert back her vBulletin version to 3.7 where the old SG format (everyone favorite) is used.

    Support for 3.7
This release (v3.8) supersedes the 3.7 branch as our primary product. Active maintenance of 3.7, including fixes for functionality breaks and security problems, will continue for approximately six months (to 1st July 2009), after which only security fixes will be released. Upon the release of vBulletin 4.1, the 3.7 branch will be end-of-life'd and no further security fixes will be made available and customers will be advised to upgrade to vBulletin 3.8 or newer in order to gain fixes.
    my 2 cents

I hate the new format, and it's now even troublesome to get to the group I want to visit.

    Hey Ladies & Gentlemen,

I found the former Social Group!

    There you go:

    Old format of Social Group

Now, the question lays, how can I make it more convenient for our folks to access?!?!?! *strokes beard*

Which page are we talking about?

    http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/group.php

    or

    http://www.spcnet.tv/forums/group.php?do=grouplist

atlantean0208 is correct in that social group changes are part of the vbulletin upgrades and may be hard to change unless it's configurable in the admin section.

The second of the two is the original and preferable format.
