    Default Clubbing & Nightclubs

    This thread is about nightclubs.

    1) Do you guys still go to nightclubs? At what age do you think you will outgrow clubbing?

    2) What kind of music do you prefer listening to at clubs: R&B, hip hop, rock, house or trance? Which music genre is the best for chilling and dancing?

    3) Do you think clubbing is a good way to meet strangers? Do you pick up girls/guys at the clubs?

Went there a few times when I was 19/20 but hated it so haven't come back. It's too loud in there and just hate the environment.

Clubbing is not a good place to meet strangers as you have no clue who they are. Pick up girls/guys at the club?? It's a big no no as you don't know what you are going to get and the good ones won't go to the club to/for pick up. Ever heard of AIDS/hiv/STDs?

    2) I prefer progressive and tribal house but sometimes i chill at r &b clubs.

    3) I won't answer this one lol.

I went to some clubs a couple of times with friends. Personally, I don't really like it. It's just not my thing. I like dancing and all that, but clubs just somehow don't interest me or give me the energy it is supposed to. I prefer concerts and shows better - I like a mosh pit so much more than a nightclub. I also like the symphony orchestra and jazz clubs more than nightclubs.

I like rock and hip hop at clubs. Though hip hop obviously is the best one to dance to.

As for the third question - I have a boyfriend, so obviously no.
    Because I'm somewhere in between,

Any kind of nightclub is fine, as long as you don't get shot by a bunch of thugs the moment you step out the door.

    1) i used to go pretty often, since i lived next to a bunch when i was in college. i probably only go a few times a year now. i think you outgrow it in your late 20s, but i still see lots of ppl who are older. good thing asians look young. when you're older, you're more likely to just go to a lounge place and drink.

    2) i don't really have a music preference, but i think hip hop is easiest to dance to.

    3) yeah, it's a good way to meet strangers and one night stands. though i have one friend who met her boyfriend of a few years at a club. a lot of dudes are just looking to get into a girl's pants though. i don't do anything with the guys, but i let them buy me drinks.

I've pretty much outgrown it. I no longer get excited about clubbing. Maybe that'll change some time in the future.

ha ha, i was going to afterwards but i had to get off.

    ok.
    1. i'm young so yes, i still go out to nightclubs. i go pretty often in the summer but when school's in, once a month? not even lol. i'll probably grow out of it once i hit my late 20's :X

    2. hip-hop, r&b, reggae because i enjoy dancing to those most

    3. good way to meet strangers, yes. it's always fun picking up a conversation with a total stranger, with a flirt here and there, have them buy drinks for you, maybe gain a friend or two
but no, i don't go to nightclubs to "pick up" guys i'd rather not.

Does it necessary refer to those messy and noisy ones? They are just like pubs, right?

I don't think I'd be interested to patronise one. I can't stand loud music and noisy places, and definitely can't relax in places like that. I'd get headaches.

    2) What kind of music do you prefer listening to at clubs?
However, I patronise lounge with a humble group of friends where they have soothing music (jazz, blues or piano), or some with singers in a corner singing to patron's dedication and a quiet atmosphere.

    3) Do you think clubbing is a good way to meet strangers? Do you pick up girls/guys at the clubs?
It's a way to socialise but I personally wouldn't call it a good way.

No. I'm anti-social, usually only stick to my friends. Any conversation strike, would be a topic with a question like "Do you like animals?".

I don't like going to such places... And my colleagues had horrible stories about those places.

I don't think I will ever patronise them.

I've passed by nightclubs before, never had the urge to enter, always feel that nightclubs are rather shady, usually playing ear busting music and stuffed with people. But I do frequent pubs, sit down somewhere with beer/wine and chill out with friends.

they're not that bad. sometimes they can be quite funny. some examples:

    1) my friends and i play a game where we try to find the most naked girl.
    2) i once saw a "bikini" contest, which was just girls in their undies. one girl was losing bc she wasn't very pretty, so she started humping a wall to try to rack up the points. yeah, i don't understand the logic in that either.
    3) my friend saw a couple doing it on the dance floor...in the middle of everyone. their parents must be so proud.

The last time I went clubbing was at least 3 years ago. I never like going a night club because clubs are always packed with stupid people. I go to bars to have a few drinks, shoot pool, watch sports on TV, and chat with people.

Around my area, there isn't a bar that has good live music. Suck. When I was in HK, I went to a club and listened to Filipinos sing. I don't mind going those bars/clubs. Do you like going to clubs that have live music?

are you serious?? like, a couple completely NAKED in the middle of the dancefloor??? wtf

thank god all of my clubbing experiences have been pleasant. i do love going in and examining the crowd though ha ha ha. you have the no-lives that seem to have nothing going on for them, the creepy old men gawking at young girls, the armani exchange guys and the hot but dumb girls looking for one night stands, the drunk lunatics stumbling everywhere, the prostitutes with DD's-- oh wait, they're just girls, the ghetto guys and gals that are always up for a fight, the actual normal people that are looking for some fun with their friends, etc. the list goes on. it's amusing ha ha.

they weren't naked, but they were definitely banging. i asked my friend, were they drunk? and she replied, no way bc the girl wouldn't have been able to hold that position if she was drunk.

if someone knows boston clubs, it's the one with the mechanical bull.

I prefer bars, they are more nice and calm, great for chatting with friends.
Clubs are for younger people, more dance, more wild.

    1. erm... not a fan but I did go here and there>
    2. Prob Hip Hop is easiest to dance to. Just sway your hips in the same direction of the beat with some skanky clothes and u would be popular.
    3. In all honesty, I don't think anyone going to a night club should have a goal of finding a bf/gf there. Hence we use fake names to minimize stalkers
