In fiction, what's important is internal consistency.

Now, in most Wuxia, the author stated pretty clearly in terms of raw force women generally tends to be weaker than man (or at least, when it comes to brute strength, it is always a guy).

But when it comes to internal energy cultivation, which is the real engine behind MA power in Wuxia novels, being male or female make no difference. Sure, females are probably more Yin energy, but both male and female can reach very high level of internal energy, so that point is moot.

In another word, in Wuxia, women potenital in MA is just as high as the men, but since most reader/author are male and since vast majority of praticuionar of MA are probably male in a story context, hence there are more male elites than female elites.

Why not? Just because one aspect of a fictional work is unrealistic, it doesn't mean that all aspects of fiction should be unrealistic. That is an oversimplified view of what fiction is about.

If what you say is true, JY wouldn't have stick to history as much as he did. Clearly, unlike what you and others are saying in this thread, not all topics within JY's works are held to the same standards of realism.

One reason why JY's works are so respected is the realism with which he painted socialcultural issues. It's why more should be expected from his handling of gender within his works.
