You guys are complaining everyday about SPCNET ads and you guys doesn't even consider what SC is thinking.

Website like this need money to operate and as I said in another thread, SC never ask for money from us directly through donation or similar.

At least don't try to block her ads and try to click it once in a while. You should block popups but there is no need to block ads. Not all of the ads are harmful and SC and her team works very hard to weed-out all those jackass ads from the network. If it give out annoying sounds, just turn off your speaker. I always turn my speaker off (or volume zero/mute) unless I watch videos or listening to mp3.

At least be thankful once in a while by clicking it instead of treating it like it will explode your hard drive. Well I also directed this to myself.

I think SC should reveal to all of us the statictics on the total bandwidth and server storage that all of us, regular *SPAMMERS* used everyday and the monthly payment.

I'm not saying that this site is bad, I'm just saying some of the ad networks, like others have noticed, contain virus and malware and whatever else is in them. Some of the users here on spcnet do not have a firewall (or have it set to allow spcnet to come through)

What bothers me is that a virus will try to load onto my machine, and thus all but totally stop spcnet from doing anything, and the little loading bar would continuosly fill and refill itself as trillions of ad banners try to load. Making me have to wait who knows how long to actually get the thread I want to view.

I'm not dissing this site (why would I? I love it here! This site is really helpful to me in the world of martial arts) It is merely the ads that are causing many users troubles here in the States. I'm not blaming anyone or pointing fingers, spcnet herself has worked hard I agree, to make this stie a reality. But I for one, do not want to see that reality so intently built piece by piece fall apart for other users due to virus and such.

That said I found that only spcnets ads through yesasia, and anything asian entertainment work just fine,m eveything else is a possible torjan breeding ground. I really hate to see this site get bogged down with virus problems.

Spcnet, if you are reading this, I haven't found anymore ads that try yto send virii into my system. Only adfs I've been seeing thus far lately now is Yesasia and eThaiCD ads, and both are clean as a whistle

HOW CAN I CLICK ON ANYTHING WHEN MY SCREEN IS ****EN FROZEN? IN CASE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT 'SCREEN FROZEN' MEANS, IT'S WHEN MY COMPUTER DOESN'T MOVE OR DO ANYTHING AFTER I GET TO THIS PAGE!

and turning off the volume? does it occur to you that most of us do other things while we come onto this site? for example, we're listening to our music or on youtube, why should we shut it off just because we come here? no other sites gives me this kind of problem.. yes, it's a problem that's why we're reporting it so that spc can make it better and safer for us all. you should be thanking us that complain about these things cause maybe spc is killing them before it gets to you.

    ****

    SC,

I still get that creative banners ads thing that I posted a screenshot earlier. In fact, it popped up twice, earlier today and just now. - Thanks

    GG,

People need to comprehend that everyone is not exactly complaining about the website, but the harmful content of SOME of the ads. The point of this whole TECH ISSUES forum is for the members to give feedback to SC and report any troubles they encounter with the website. SC, our administrator, can then make the forum better for all. We all appreciate SC's efforts and time spent here.

Constructive criticism is a form of communication in which a person tries to correct the behavior of another in a non-authoritarian way, and is generally, a diplomatic approach about what another person is doing socially incorrect. It is 'constructive' as opposed to a command or an insult and is meant as a peaceful and benevolent approach. Participatory learning in pedagogy is based on these principles of constructive criticism.

Constructive criticism is the process of offering valid and well-reasoned opinions about the work of others with the intention of helping the reader or the artist, rather than creating an oppositional attitude.
It's a healthy feedback. No one is flaming SC or SPCNET. If SPCNET website and forum becomes difficult to visit because of the particular harmful ads (not all here), it will eventually defeat SC's purpose of opening the website. Even SC welcomes the feedback members give.

Well, it isn't important whether "our friend" has any idea of what he is talking about, or does he need to understand where everyone's (point) coming from.

It is only important that, it was another fashion he had picked up from one of (or few) of our fellow SPCNET folks.

    June 1, 8:35pm Eastern -

I was browsing through Spcnet when firefox suddenly gave an alert and closed. Windows help and support showed this message:

    What is Data Execution Prevention?

Data Execution Prevention (DEP) is a security feature that can help prevent damage to your computer from viruses and other security threats. Harmful programs can try to attack Windows by attempting to run (also known as execute) code from system memory locations reserved for Windows and other authorized programs. These types of attacks can harm your programs and files.

DEP can help protect your computer by monitoring your programs to make sure that they use system memory safely. If DEP notices a program on your computer using memory incorrectly, it closes the program and notifies you.

It's happening to me too. And a few times I got an ad telling me that my computer has a virus. It wouldn't disappear from my screen. Tried to use task manager to shut it down but doing so only freeze my computer.
