THanks for the info!It is great to know that there is a series for that movie too. Will they use the same songs that they used for the movie since the songs were so nice?? I think it is a good idea for Jackie to be the producer since he has acted in the movie. Are they in the process of filming??

Bai Bing (apparently she was chosen for the role because Jackie Chan thought she resembled Kim Hee Sun, who played the character in the movie). Earlier rumors were that Gillian Chung was competiting to be cast as the princess as her comeback role but that failed.

Chen Zi Han as Lu Zhi (funny that she looks so much prettier than Yu Ji when it should be the other way round!).

Yes, they've started filming not long ago. The production (filming/editing etc.) is estimated is take roughly a year and there are plans to release it during spring 2010.

I agree that the songs in the movie were lovely though i doubt they'll recycle it for the series.

WOW, thanks for all of the pix and info. I did not watch the movie so I am not sure what it is about. Did you see it?? It must be a grand production if it filming will take a whole year. I hope that it will not disappoint us...The costumes are really nice! Thanks for sharing the pix.

funny i just found out about this series yesterday! I came to spcnet for info and there was nothing, come back today and there is tons of info and pictures thanks

Another awesome thing i noticed which is bound to make the series 100x better then the drama is that instead of being set during the reign of emperor qin it revolves around liu bang and xiang yu!!!!

hm, idk...i cant really imagine hu ge as a general person. but bai bing does look like jin xi shan (the princess in the movie)!
50 episodes though...wow. it must be much more complicated than the movie then.

I dont think filming will take a year. It'll probably take up till 6 mths max followed by another 6 mths of post-production work or so. I didn't watch the movie either but its apparently about a Qin general escorting a Korean princess to become the Emperor's concubine and falling in love with her. And the film switches between generations (modern vs past).

If you put it that way then filming should not take a year. THanks for telling me the gist of the story... I wonder how that will stretch out to 50 eps??I hope that it won't get draggy... Do you mean it will go from the modern to the ancient times? Or it will just go from the present to the past?? I just hope that this series will be good.

well in the movie, it was about this historian guy in the present (jackie chan) dreaming about his past life as a general and meeting/falling in love with this princess. eventually he figures out that it wasnt just a dream though...

I agree - it looks awful in the poster image. It's better in the costume fitting photo.

But then he probably doesn't get to decide what his hair looks like. It's up to the makeup and hair department to decide that, and sometimes the director if the director cares about that kind of detail. Or at least, that's how it works on American tv shows. Sometimes the stars get a say, if they're really well-known or have an executive producer role on the show. I have the impression that Chinese stars don't get as much say, but I don't know.

I never saw The Myth, which is odd because I see most Jackie Chan movies. It seems to me that I thought the trailers looked stupid, but I may be thinking of the wrong movie.

The costumes for the series look nice, and Hu Ge seems like a good choice to repeat a Jackie role. But I'm expecting him to collapse from exhaustion at any minute - he does so many series!!

I agree. I dont know but he seems to have lost a lot of weight and looks exhausted most of the time (especially after his accident). Apparently his management company (Tang Ren) works him like mad because he's one of their hottest stars. Poor dude.

As for his hairstyle, I remember reading somewhere stating that Hu Ge doesn't look good without his fringe (hence the similarity in hairstyle for almost all of his period dramas). Plus, there was some news about the need for fringe to cover some minor scars (on his forehead) which was sustained during his accident.

I think Hu Ge's hair looks fine. I actually like his hair like that. His costumes are really nice. He will be playing Jacky's role?? That is cool! Yea, I feel sorry for Hu Ge since he was to work sooo hard after his accident. But the good thing is, it shows that he is popular and well liked. I just hope that he will get a break or else he will suffer from exhaustion.

now that i actually come to think of it, i dont think i ever saw hu ge without his fringe. it's probably looks weird since we're so used to it. even in modern attire, he has that part of hair in front of his forehead. i think it looks fine. i liked his hairstyle in chinese paladin 1 and young warriors the best.
i think this is like the first series hu ge is going to be in thats not directed by li guo li. lol
i do feel kinda bad for him though, he never seems to get a break! poor guy...i hope he takes care of himself!

I dont think "Till Death Do us Apart" (the modern drama he acted with Vivian Hsu) was directed by LGL. About his fringe, I recall seeing him without it in LOCH'08 (in his Mongolian wear) or smthg. Can't remember cause I only watched a few episodes of that series.

some part of hair in front of his forehead is okay , and you're right in chinese paladdin and young warrior his hairstyle is great, and i think in liao zhai is great too, but not in fairy from wonderland, but still suit to his character in there
