i believe the drama only has 14 episodes...so two more to go. which i'm kinda glad because with the pace they are going, they'll run out of scenes if there is more then 2.

And i thought i was the only one found it hard to accept what OC did...only it gets worst...

They find out XM is pregnate and he still decides to 'set her free'.

now you can see why i've never warmed up to OC, purely for the fact that I know what he was going to do and I can't agree with his decision. I feel quite sorry for XM throughout the whole ordeal.

Her beloved brother dies, she loses her mind, finally when she falls preganate she picks herself back up. So her husband decides to leave her for her own good. She can't go back to LX because she didn't love him anymore and couldn't live with him and abandon her husband.

although i can understand why OC did what he did, but I can't accept the fact that he didn't realise it was too late to let go. He should've talked to her about it.

but thats the problem with the three main characters in this series...none of them are willing to talk. They bottle things up and think what they're doing is right...if I didn't like the novel so much it would've been quite maddening.

Whatever happen to 'I promise to make you the happiest woman or making up for past mistakes'? They're so fickle. This is turning out to be one of the soapyest soap drama. XM should just raise the kid alone and forget the guys.

Never liked the two guys from the beginning. I don't like that kind of obsessive love - it's unhealthy and short-lived, not the sort marriages are made of. Barbie Hsu's XM should get another more deserving guy to have a healthy relationship with.

But that said, Barbie Hsu's chemistry with both HXM and Peter Ho sizzles!

I don't know. Summer's Desire/Bubble's scandals, break-ups, exchanging of partners, lies, and manipulation, secrets, and etc...it just seems not as good as I thought it might be...nothing on par with the Gossip Girl series.

Watching this series here....doesn't leave me wanting more or satisfied with what I see....I'm so losing interest in this love triangle.

I'm really really glad Peter persuaded Barbie Hsu to take the XM role. She has the looks and demeanour that can hold two super-hot guys ransom, plus great acting talent. My best friend who works for Edelman PR in China organises a lot of celebrity events and he's adamant that among Chinese/Taiwanese actresses Barbie Hsu looks the most beautiful in person and has the most charming personality, much much more so than Zhang Ziyi, Shu Qi, Vicky Zhao, Lin Chiling or Liu Yifei.

I would have gagged if HXM and Peter Ho fought over Lin Chiling.

But yeah, if I were XM, I would feel sooo happy to be rid of OC. So now she can bear the Ou heir, get lots of money and have a wonderful, single independent life. Hah!

My heart went out to her when her little brother died. I know how she feels especially since she's an orphan - my little brother means the world to me too.

I saw about two episodes of gossip girl and gave up, the series was undoubtedly good but it was hard for me to connect to any characters, I don't understand their mentality, their motivation or their ideals. Maybe because I was never really one of the 'in' crowds and still find it odd why people need more then 3 pairs of shoes.

Their constant backstabbing, and fake emotions really turn me off, same reason as why I never liked Veronica Mars. There are just some things I can't forgive.

As I am a generally more family orientated person, I think Summer Desire fits me quite well, I like the heroin and can understand her actions perfectly, while the two guys (i find very annoying) are much like a deep dark secret that you would wish for. Who doesn't want two totally hot and rich guys fight over them.

The series isn't as great as I was hopping it to be, but I've always been more of a book fan, even though I adore movies, I get too distracted by editing, directing, sound, lighting...all that little stuff.

Its funny how you list exchanging partners since from my count XM broke up with OC once five years ago, and now broke up with LX and got back with OC. I think two break ups in 6 years is quite alright.

Though I agree that the series is really losing my interest...the constant waiting for it to come out every week is also getting on my nerves but the last two episodes has been too draggy for my taste, although there were some outstanding scenes, most lacked that 'dramatic' atmosphere I had wanted them to have. I adore drama...like I adore Curse of the Golden Flower.

XC's death.

I think this scene was done very well, Barbie Xu really gave me hope in this scene, then took it away again in the next. I don't know If I like her or not right now. At the start I really liked her, but towards the middle and end where she was required to show more emotions, she was to tamed for my taste.

BUT i do agree with xiao long...anyone but Lin Chiling...my god...she almost ruined Red Cliff for me. Lin Chiling as Xiao Qian? What where the producers smoking...I would have avoided this series completely if Lin Chiling was XM.

If XM had been Zhang Ziyi, Shu Qi, Vicky Zhao or Liu Yifei I would have avoided it as well. I think Liu Yifei is really cute, but she's not really my idea of a XM character, for one, they would have to get a real little kid to play her brother. Vicky Zhao was never beautiful to me, neither was Shu Qi or Lin Chiling. Zhang Ziyi was okay, I liked her at the psychotic chick in Rush Hour 2. I never found Barbie Xu beautiful either, I still don't think she's beautiful but she looks quite good in some shoots.

i think i wouldve case wu chun as HXM's character, LX. the book describes LX as beautiful to an extent of being "yao", like almost surreal. i think wu chun could be that. as for OC, i really dont know. i think peter got the haughty, proud manner really well though, so no complaints from me. as for XM, based strictly on looks, i couldve casted liu yifei. i find her sooo pretty. and i think she did cold and bottled up emotions pretty well as XLN in ROCH 03.

I didn't read the book so I don't know how she is in the book, but somehow she is soo tame no expression what so ever from her. I'm tired of love triangle. I'm sooo ready for this series to be over with

I think watching the episodes week by week and not continously makes me lose interest and become more frustrated with the storyline and characters or maybe it's just them.

XM's loss of her brother and her zombieness is not portrayed well onscreen. She seems just souless and listless. I don't know. I expected her to express grief differently.

yeah, i hate waiting a whole week just to watch one episode. i'm probably gonna buy the disks soon and watch the whole thing together again

but the way XM expresses grief is by denial and almost losing her will to live - thats how the author writes it in the book, and barbie's portrayal is exactly how i imagined XM to react when her brother dies.

I think XM's or rather Barbie Xu's protrayal of the XM really wasn't up to my standard, but then I think the fact that they seemed to have cut out parts of her denial isn't helping much either. the novel did show XM being in a state of denial, it also mentioned via character thinking that she looked like she was no longer there, there was a scene in the novel that I felt so heart breaking for her but they didn't put it in...

This was also the point that OC realises he must do something and choose to let her enter the film. As oppose to how the series took it.

In the series...LX is a ******** to the end...which will make OC an ***** for making that final decision.

agreed. at least in the novel LX comes back seemingly wiser and seems to have learned something from the experience. in the series LX comes back still an a**hole.

I don't think he love XM anymore or at least he learn not to be so jealous & value her heart. Somehow it doesn't seem like the same character as the LX we know. It like a total different character. I don't understand the ending. The ending for this series is weird somehow. In ep 14, I feel like they just rush to get everything done with it. I total don't understand OC, if he love XM & baby so much why did he decide to leave her? At the end I prefer neither guy w/XM.
