Bondy Chiu - how come never made it?

Bondy Chiu can sing. She's pretty. So why didn't she make it big?

I remember hearing her song "Every Two Seconds" back in the mid-90's and was impressed. Then she kinda fell into oblivion. It wasn't until the early 2000s when I realized she had become an actress.

Many talented people struggle to make it big, and many talentless losers somehow make it.

Though I don't know if she really didn't make it, as her Wikipedia site shows that she has had several albums out.

Talents + looks doesn't mean one can make it big. Probably bad luck (not fated) or she refused to 'entertain' certain people.

I like her too. But, I guess she just doesn't have the luck. Many famous stars nowadays became famouse because of a breakthrough role or song. Maybe she doesn't have one.

Yeah, I meant why she never made it big. She can act too, but has only been in some tv series. Maybe she's too smart for her own good.

Comparing her looks and talents to the more famous stars in HK, there's really no reason why she barely has a career anymore.

I heard that she quit showbiz to do business or something like that... I have found that a number of supporting stars and even some leading ones just enter showbiz to make money. They then leave showbiz to do business or something else...I am guessing that was what Bondy did as well... I think that is a good move since being in the circle too long is not always a good thing.
