You guys or gals are taking this too seriously. Of course at the end of the day, it's just looks. It's not like I want to impose my conception of men on others, I'm just sharing my views on todays trends. To me, men should look a certain way, but I'm not going to twist anyone's arm to cut their hair and stop being poseur. Mentioning Hitler is way exaggerating. I'm not asking for the heads of all sissy-looking men here, just that I don't understand this trend which I find repulsive, but that's my prerogative. You know what's worse than men looking like girls? Political correctness. People can't express anything these days without being accused of committing an act of genocide. Sheesh.

"Effeminate" guys (and perception of "effeminate" is to a great extent matter of the broader context) have always had a certain allure - not sure about Eastern traditions, but in the West there have always been enough girls who liked the sissies.
These days, the norm has shifted somewhat closer towards the metrosexual type - so the girls go for an enhanced type of nancy...;-)

Well obviously east and west side has its benefits. But west starts out hot. East takes over though - I'm talking from a progression standpoint in terms of what you see in worldwide media.

For females, the western standard is dominant in widescale print media and film - particularly in the early years (teen to about 21). I mean, if you compare a western girl with say, an asian woman at age 16, the western girl will look more developed and typically flashier on film. But by about 25, Asian women carry the torch. So while Asian women often may not feel that they're beautiful, the reality is that they often become the most beautiful. And they never look back.

For males, western standard is the most dominant. They have a more rugged look that beats Asian guys, so... Yeah us Asian boys need some help. But our strength is also that we look like young boys in ways that westerners never will -- even at twice their age. Sad but true. When I audition for film I always lose to the white dude that's 6'4" with muscles as big as my legs. I have more success in live theatre where I am the teen boyfriend serenading my girlfriend with cheesy pop tunes, or dancing around in tight 80s outfits for white moms to relive their past. They love that stuff. So we do have our beauty, it's just.... uh, different. Yay Asian boys FTW.
