    Life, is like Mathematics. When we were kids, things were as simple as 1+1=2, 2x4=8, etc.. And, alphabet is a different story. As we grow older, things became as complicated as 1+1=2{8[4(a+b)+c]} square root, divide, blah, blah....

    Isn't it ironic: good things almost never fall into anybody's lap by chance, but BAD things almost always do.

    I'm sure good things have dropped into people's lap by chance. Don't standardise the bad things that happened to you to other people's life. :\

    I'm a pretty standard person. Things that happen to me probably also happen to most other people.

    If I were special, I'd have known it by now.

    Perhaps, but good things happen too. Maybe it happened to you, just that you did not see it as a good thing, or refused to see it as a good thing.

    Heard this story before?

    ==

    A heavy rain slowly floods a village. A man refused rescue attempts by a boat, a motorboat, and finally a helicopter. He insisted that God will save him.

    He drowned.

    When he went to Heaven, he questioned God why wasn't he saved despite his absolute faith and all that?

    God replied He sent help thrice but all were refused.

    ==

    Are you the man in the story? I think you are.

    You are so blinded by the bad things that happened to you that you no longer can recognise the positive things in your life.

    I suppose, but not starving to death in some third world nation is setting the bar pretty damn low.

    I heard a similar story told but instead the protagonist was a frog i think from the movie 'Pursuit of Happyness'.
