    Default Best Browser

I'm currently using Google Chrome, which i'm happy about.

I kept reading about the various add-ons on FF3 which prevents any ads from happening at all.

I saw IE8 and it's kinda like google chrome, except slower and it has that annoying Live Search button which i can't ever get rid off.

I wonder if anyone here uses FF3 or IE8 and think that i should switch from Google Chrome?

I'm using Opera, and it seldom gives me the pain IE and even FF does.

Firefox has been giving me problems lately especially after the updated version came. I've been getting more browser crashes and having to restart FF.

opposite of minimalistic. I.e. uses more ram doing unnecessary tasks. Like internet explorer but not as bad.

IE is easily the worst. However, FireFox has its issues too. The biggest problem for me has been a dramatic reduction in response time when it encounters a page with Flash. The browser is literally slowed down by about 10 times; a page that would load in IE in 5 sec now takes 50 seconds to load in FireFox, meanwhile consuming 100% CPU so you can't switch to another task until it's done loading. I heard this a FireFox bug with certain graphic cards.

I've heard that Firefox has an issue with memory leak with Flash, which is a significant minus. This is solved by restarting the browser every so often, but given how common Flash is (youtube, etc.), memory usage can go up to 300 MB quite easily.

i've only used IE, safari, and firefox, so i don't know how they would compare with google chrome, but, like suet seung, after i've upgraded, firefox does crash more often.

I just installed and Google Chrome. It does take getting used to without the tool bar and other stuff I've grown accustomed to seeing in the other browsers. It's good that they allow you to import the old bookmarks you have.

Stuff seem to load a bit faster. The reason I changed is because I've had enough of the browser crashes from FF.

I'm using Chrome. It feels more usable and less cluttered than IE or FF and loads faster too. Apparently certain websites don't very well in Chrome but it appears to be more a support related issue than browser related. But if something doesn't work I switch to Firefox then switch back.

Bubbly Bubble Gum: Yeah, I like that it loads faster. And you can use the search engine and your searches in the same box that you put the url too.

I've tried Chrome as well but still sticking to Firefox. Chrome is faster to FF definitely but I like my extensions in FF too much to jump over just for a few milliseconds of loading time. Also, not too sure how ad-blocking works in Chrome, most of the ads are blocked in FF cause of the ad-block extensions.

What do you mean by extensions?

FF kept crashing on me so I switched over.

When I use Google Chrome, I just don't get why sometimes when I click on the tabs it then separates to become a different window and doesn't stay as a tab within a window.

I also think GC gives you more protection from malware, which FF doesn't do much.

I never got any problem whatsoever with the Internet, virus, malware, ads etc. All you need is a security suite that can become a virus protection and a firewall.

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r53/garrett850/eset.jpg')

After that, any browser is Ok. I use firefox since it's out - v1 until now - v3, never got any problem whatsoever, no crash and the add-ons is fantastic and cool. Really love the TwitterFox, the Twitter FireFox add-on.

There are just too many cool things to try and if you do web programming, firefox is the best companion.

As of April 2009[update], Google Chrome does not support third party extensions.

Extensions are little things that can be downloaded and added to FF to customize it and enhance the surfing experience - could be blogging tools, search engine tools etc.

    .
Now I understand why this happens. It's all explained here:

You can do so much more with GC's tabs (as explained in the link above).
