I don't understand my fellow Americans' obsession with McDonalds' McRib sandwich. I've had it once, and it's awful. Every time it appears, however, people in the U.S. go nuts over it.

Americans like fatty-tasting foods. That's a fact.
I didn't like it either. It was too much for me.
do they really go nuts over it? i thought it was just a commercial
"Are you man enough to eat tofu?"
Order of Knights of the Holy Tofu
STOP using DHMO! It kills innocent lives!
I don't understand the craze either. I think it was after I read your original thread on this topic that I went and gave this sandwich a try. It's edible and also forgettable.
Don't like ribs without bones.
I think it's just marketing from this point on. Maybe in the past it actually tasted good or something, but nobody I know actually wants to go eat a Mcrib except just to taste it and see what the fuss is about.
I am from the midwest. I don't like them either, but I think the reason people like it is because it is only available for a limited time. If it were always around then no one would care, and it does not follow any particular seasonal rotation. It just shows up on Ronald's whim and disappears before people get sick of it. It is all about withholding until you love it and taking it away before you hate it.
And some people do go crazy for it. There are websites that track sightings of mcribs (they don't come out in every market at the same time) so you can find the nearest mcrib available.
However I would say they are a vocal minority.
I don't know when the last time was I haven't seen a McRib... because we have them for 365 days a year... what an odd thing. I like the BBQish sauce but still prefer a TS.
