Yes, it's actually very accurate to the English version.

    "Troi Cao Nho Le"

    =)

    This one right?

what a pity that vincent was not the main lead . the lead, who isn't even on the cover, is uber boring . vincent was so cool, even as the villain. if not for him, i would have given up on the series. gotta say that athena and shui ling are very beautiful in the series.

when i first saw the poster, i was so happy to find another vincent series. plus, i thought that he's bound to end up with either shui ling or athena. i like both actresses, so i didn't really care which one he's coupled with. i felt cheated when it turned out vincent wasn't the lead. the lead was boring, plain looking, and average in acting skills. major disappointment.

but i think playing the dashing hero is a walk in the park for vincent. it shows his skills more when he's still likable as a perverted villain . if he was younger, he would make the perfect choice as yang kang in LOCH.

I saw parts of this series on TV years ago. One of the scenes that I saw was Vincent violently raping Shui Ling and Athena. That scene was well done but boy you would hate Vincent in that role. However, it shows what a good actor he is and how versatile he can be.

well, the character attempted to rape the girls, but luckily failed. yeah, the character was just plain vile. hated his guts. but i think it's an interesting change from always playing the perfect hero. so i understand why vincent took the role.

I did not watch the whole series so I have some questions. Why did Vincent's character seemed to hate Shui Ling and Athena's characters so much? I heard that he was the one that was responsible for their father's death too. Was it because they rejected him or something?? I am just curious...Thanks!

It's been years since I last watched the series and my memory is foggy. As I recall, Vincent wanted their land, they didn't want to move, he set their house on fire to force them out. Shui Ling and Athena had 3 younger siblings to take care of, so they moved to the city to find jobs. They ended up singing and doing skits in a large/popular restaurant and became very popular. In their skits, they referenced Vincent burning people's house and killing the innocents.

Vincent's father didn't approve of the situation and reprimanded Vincent. The main lead is the older son and stood to inherit most of the family fortune, so Vincent had tough competition. The father favored the older son, the older son was in love with Shui Ling and voiced their story to the father. The sisters were intent on ruining his reputation and Athena even attempted to kill him.

So Vincent hated the girls and they wanted him dead.

With veterans like Vincent, Shui Ling, and Athena, the acting is pretty solid. Decent plot with the same old formula used, so nothing new here. Being a Taiwanese melodrama, it does have it's draggy moments, but that's what the fast forward button is for . I do enjoy the bond b/t Shui Ling and Athena, very sweet and moving. I believe Liu De Kai also guest starred for a few scenes, which is a true waste of his talent. The major disappointment is the lead actor. Boy, is he boring and dull. No charisma or charm at all. I remember thinking that he can't possibly be the lead. He's not even on the freakin poster!

Yea, one of my other friends saw it and did not really like it at all. Also, I am not really into modern series and mainly like ancient series so I decided to skip this one back then. I only started to like some modern series recently....Each person's opinions differ as well, so you may love it while others may not.

I think you got the details right... I know the lead and have seen him in Bloody Pearl as well. He isn't so great looking nor is he a good actor. I wonder if that is why has disappeared from the screen??
