What Are You Dressing Up As For Halloween?

Aside from Christmas, Halloween is one of my favourite holidays of the year. I recently really took to dressing up and having somewhat fancy/elaborate costumes. I dressed up as Gogo Yubari (from Kill Bill) one year, and as a butterfly goddess last year.

This year, I'm thinking of going as Medusa.

So are any of you going to dress up? If you are, what will you be?

Halloween is the perfect opportunity to indulge your alter egos/fantasies.

Last year, I was an Egyptian princess, and the year before that, a cowgirl. This year, I'm thinking of dressing up as a 40s Shanghai girl (Qi Pao, red lipstick, high heels and all), since my love for Shanghai fashion has been revived after some recent WKW revisits.

Or maybe I'll be a futuristic android (ala Faye Wong).

Are you going to buy a headpiece with snakes, or going to make each individual snake? Sounds like enough hard work to turn the wearer into stone first.

I'm making my own.

Part of what I enjoy about Halloween is the fact that I can be creative and make my own costumes.

For Gogo - I had to shop around and put together the entire costume, and had to make the Tokyo International badge on her uniform, as well as her mace.
For the butterfly, I had to make the entire wings and the flower crown.

So this year, I'm actually taking it easy on myself and only need to make a headdress of snakes . Though the make-up may take up some time as well.

Oh yeah I love Halloween too! Too bad my costumes are usually more on the toned-down side though. This year I'm going as a school girl like in the mangas and animes. Hehe, I guess it's just I never got a chance to wear a uniform while schooling, so I'm sorta curious.

Last year I was Waldo, the year before I was a scarecrow, and then the year before that I was a bum.

Lol, I wasn't planning on wearing any, but it's getting a bit on the cooler side here, so I'm probably gonna wear some leg warmers. I'll show you pictures. =)

Exactly what I was thinking about ... for myself.
Imagine the looks on my students' faces if the scary Mandarin Language Teacher showed up at their homes (most stay in the community) and glared at them in the midst of all that partying and candy-sharing!
