During 16 years of separation YG was busy waitng his wife and improving his kung fu. YD and QQR were already secluded themselves. ZBT was busy with playing bees and growing young. Given his carefree nature 16 years play didn't mean much. While Guo Family was protecting Xiang Yang, what was Huang Yao Shi doing whole 16 years? Not single time visiting his family?

Not meeting with his daughter whole 16 years for no apparent reason is rather odd. He really lives up his heretic character.
