I thought it would be a lost year for the Rockets but dang, they're proving me wrong. This is a pretty good team!
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

being from boston, i expect everyone else to love our sports teams (because we're great), but i guess that's not really the case, huh?

i'm just popping into this thread to say that the celtics are great!

They are old and will run out of steam when the playoffs begin.

that's cuz there's too many folks from california and laker fans around (which by default forbids them to like boston). sorry poops

that aside, the celtics have been playing pretty well. as annoying as i find rondo's face, the guy can really play. If only he could actually make free throws...

The rockets play hard and are well coached. It's hard not to root for them given their attitude

Cavs are on an absolute tear these days...up 18 vs grizz atm (but they played vs LA last night 2)....

Watched alot of cavs and laker games this year...and if i had to pick the best player in the L it would be lebron over kobe by the slightest margin. His court vision and passing is amazing and he's an unstoppable scorer when he wants 2 be....

I'm praying that cavs don't get that stretch 4 for z's expiring (jamison, murphy and maybe even west now with paul out)..or igudola which seems like a certainty if they want him...they already match up so well against LA with their size. I'll always cheer for shaq because of what he did for LA but can't do it when the title's on the line...hope boston gets healthy and bumps cavs so i dont have to watch them play....

i wonder if the cavs will be able to get Z back in time for the playoffs. if he gets waived after march 1st, he's not allowed in the playoffs.

I like the Lakers better when Kobe doesn't play. Everyone else steps up.

ya...their offense does look alot smoother without kb....

cavs r sucking ...jamison fit goin to take sometime. I still believe LA will take out cavs if they meet in the finals. Their depth will be too much for the cavs to handle....plus jackson is 10x the coach that brown is. Bron will have to go ssj*4 for cavs to beat lakers...

Let's not have any crazy illusions here, though: without Kobe, the Lakers don't make the Finals, let alone have a chance at winning them.

it looks "smoother", but it's also less "efficient". well, "statistically" speaking that is. I'm not usually a big stat freak that believes stats hold the truth, but it doesn't mean it cannot shed some light.

in any case, i think it's just a change of attitude where folks are actually putting in more effort and playing harder (sort of like houston last year when Yao Ming went down).

^^ The Fakers won't even make it past Denver. Mark it down.

Now, I'll know whom to collect the money from when the Lakers perform their annual ousting of the Nuggets from the playoffs.

I wouldn't worry, though: the Nuggets will have their chance...after Kobe retires.

annual ousting, really? there's no guarantee that either team will make it to the WCF (esp with re-entergized Utah and newly souped up Dallas)

lol...ya wont even try and make the argument that they r better without Mamba. Especially not after another game winner vs memphis....

His leadership, clutch shooting, d (when he decides to lock down) and offense make up for his sticky fingers and refusal to play in the flow @ times...

I still think they would be a 50+ win team without KB though....so many talented guys on that team..and the only real weakness is @ the PG position....

Yeah. You take any marquee player from any team and of course they won't won't win the championship.
I was just saying how deep the team is and how underrated some of their players are.
You take Lebron or Melo, Dwight, Wade out, their teams will suffer more than Lakers if Kobe was out.
There are other teams but then again their star doesn't carry such a load.
E.g. Roy and Blazers, TD and Spurs etc.

when star players sits out, teams often step up (think LA-Houston playoff series from last year)

orlando won game 6 on the road in the philly in the playoffs last year.
denver had been playing w/o carmelo for stretches and were winning (and even one in LA)
the heat are not that great to begin with
Pop sits his stars on a regular basis just for the sake of sitting them and the spurs still manage to win in past years (though they've been sinking into medocrecy lately)
Lebron James hasn't sat out enough the past two years to judge.

Which needs to be soon, he's finished. As far as collecting money, if you're lucky I may leave you with enough $$ to get one of silly Odom's 5 buck boxes. Kobe and the Fakers were given their title last year in an attempt by the league to "save the image" of the NBA. Won't happen this time though. I'll take Melo, Mr. Big Shot, The BirdMan, and K-Mart in 6. Mark it down.
