    Default MMA=Mix Martial Arts

MMA!! Who watches it? I like MMA cuz it's more exciting than boxing. With MMA one can mix it up with various diciplines, which make this sport so unique. One can fight a stand up, take it to the ground where one can ground and pound an opponent, or one could tap-out your opponent via submission.

My favorite MMA fighter right now is WEC's (World Extrem Cagefighting) feather weight champ Uriah Faber. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQSq-...eature=related

This dude is the total package he can submit you, he can ground and pound you, and he's an excellent striker.

Uriah Faber is alright, his striking is somewhat ok. I think he should fight Jens Pulver or Takanori Gomi if they sign him.

Speaking of MMA Minataro Nogieria just beat Tim Sylvia for the interim Heavyweight belt in the UFC ppv. Brock Lesner (wwe) lost his debut fight in 90 second with a submission, by Frank Mir who commentate on WEC.

what?? ok?? Most of his victories were KO"s.....i don't think that's ok...that's gotta say something about ur striking abilities.....Yeah, I think he's gonna fight jens pulver next..dunno when then..but that's the fight to look for.

I'm not suprise Brock Lesnar lost.....Can't match up with Frank Mir...he's a submission specialist.

Brock Lesnar took him down and was beating on him before he got caught in the submission. Although I'm still disappointed that he lost. At least now he has to prove himself unlike his stint on WWE where he was promoted to the top the first moment he arrived there.

Brock Lesnar is a great wrestler no doubt about it.. But his stand up and defense against submission needs work. I think the fight between him and Mir was a little bit premature. Lesnar tried to take out Mir too early and his hastiness left his guards open for Mir with a knee lock. That knee lock was nasty...it didn't take Lesnar long to tap out...I was suprised that Lesnar was a gracious loser.

Brock needs a lot more of experience, I didn't really expect him to win against a former champ. It was funny how everyone watching was saying Brock couldn't win but were hoping that somehow he pulls through.

Lesner should have train more on his defensives skills. Even if u do have a great wrestling background and wrestler dont like being on their back. He could train with Kevin "the Monster" Randleman, Randy Couture, or Pat Militich or someone.

And he is married to Sable, former wwe diva.

    here are some upcoming match up;
Anderson Silva vs Dan Henderson (middleweight title) march ppv
Matt Serra vs Georges St Pierre (gsp) (welterweight) april ppv

How old is Sable?? She's MILF material for Brock...

Some more upcoming fights I'm looking forward to seeing:

    Cung Le vs Frank Shamrock
    Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott

Sable is 40 and Brock is 30. They both had kids from their previous marriages before they got married.

These upcoming fights are interesting. Cung Le still has a perfect record of 5-0. But I don't think he has been in MMA for that long. Other than that the only thing I know about him is that I used to see his face plastered all over Kung Fu magazine.

Kimbo Slice vs Tank Abbott. Finally. I've seen some of Slice's earlier street fights on Youtube. For a big man his size, it's easy to be fast and aggressive. But I don't know how he stacks up on the technique department. He's being trained by Bas Rutten and Rutten's badass.

Cung Le is in the MMA briefly, The first time I saw him fight was a couple of yrs ago on ESPN during one of the K1 broadcast. Cung Le was a beast in that fight, his leg scissor take down was nasty. His kicks were accurate and devastating. I wouldn't want to be at the recieving end of those kicks.

Kimbo Slice is a beast. I saw him on Youtube. He's got good striking ability, but Tank Abbott is a brawler too. So, I think I give the slight edge to Kimbo for his aggression and punching power. Plus this is Tank Abbott's first fight in how many yrs?? Cage rust might be a factor for him.

Tank Abbot had two fights last year. He won against Kim Jihoon and lost against Garry Turner. But he did take a two year break after 2003 from a losing streak. His record 10-13 is not very impressive. And he's not a street fighter like Kimbo Slice was. He's more of a former boxer and college wrestler.

That fight was so one-sided. Tank Abbot kept falling down and he was out of shape.

He could fight Brock Lesnar. They're both new to MMA.

Mixed Martial Arts? I've seen how the combat moves are done, and the science studies about it. Still, I find it rather barbaric. No offence, just my 2 cents of opinion. I do practice defensive arts too. A few such as Chinese Wushu, Aikido, Karate, Judo and Kendo. I like the discipline part about them not sure if MMA do that or is it just another WWE.
What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!

discipline or not, these guys can fight... WWE is entertainment, this is more of a competition/boxing type of deal.

Traditional martial arts are outdated and ineffective. Memorizing katas will not save you. When you're in a real fight it doesn't matter what discipline you have or how nice of a person you are, if you can't fight then you're going to get your butt kicked. The other guy is not going to be your sparring buddy who's gonna let you know when he's going to hit you. Most likely, you'll be facing a resisting opponent in unpredictable situations that demand you to think on the spot. This is where knowing MMA comes in handy. It utilizes the human body to its fullest extent to take out your opponent in the most fastest effective way. MMA is a real contact sport.
