Default When was the consept of LDA created?

JY didnt incorpurate this consept until his later novels, but was he the first of the wuxia writers to do so? When did this happen?

I grew up in the 80's with TVB adaptations and LDA is has always been one of those things that is part of wuxia. So reading the early novel, I feel that the feats are not that impressive.

If by later novels you mean his early novels then you'd be correct

In The Yue Maiden, the protagonist was able to exert ranged sword chi.

In LOCH, there were many cases of LDA (here's an example)
Ouyang Feng had just exchanged some stances with Guo Jing, compelling him to use the Vacant Fist technique. He noticed that Guo Jing's movement was subtle with marvelous variations, in his heart he was secretly pleased, thinking this must be the Nine Yin Manual's martial art. He wanted to watch Guo Jing to use up this technique so that he could steal as much as he could. Unfortunately Wanyan Honglie barged in and questioned his ability. He still thought that Guo Jing would be useful, and he knew the ferociousness of his own strength, therefore, voluntarily he withdrew his push.

Unexpectedly Guo Jing had determined to guard the Wumu Legacy with his life, he knew that if he evade to the side, the cave entrance would be defenseless and the Wumu Legacy would fall into the enemy's hand. Although there were numerous palace guards outside, how could they defend against Ouyang Feng and the others? He knew this incoming force was ferocious, he could not block, and he could not evade; so his feet kicked and he jumped about four feet upward to escape the attack and then landed back in front of the entrance. He heard a loud noise behind his back, sand and rocks fell down since Ouyang Feng's force hit the cave wall.

"Good!" Ouyang Feng called out, and with an exceptional speed sent out the second attack. The previous force had not diminished when the next force had arrived.

Yue Maiden was one of the last pieces he wrote wasn't it?
    明月心跳起來,又回頭,嫣然道,“你還要不要我帶上那面具?”
    傅紅雪冷道,“現在你臉上豈非已經戴上了個面具?”

He he. Yup by later novels I mean novels which he wrote later in (real) time, but depicting earlier periods.

And Yue Maiden was written very late.

I made a mistake with the Yueh Maiden =)

But you're ignoring the LOCH example which I even quoted? It's not his earliest novel but it's certainly early enough no?

    Sorry about that.

I would agree that OYF might display some degree of LDA here, but im not certain that he did. One thing that bothers me though is that it was stated in HSDS that LDA was unthinkable.

DGSD-era and before (plus XAJH) show undisputed LDA. Triology, im not so sure. And all the novels which featured LDA was written later in time.

Wonder if LDA is present in GL and when did this happen.

That's not even the only examples in LOCH and ROCH. You have cases where OYF would send a force a long distance away towards HR or Yideng and GWM's fight from a range of ten meters as notable ones.

Attention isn't really brought to it but the situation is most easily explained by LDA.

I guess YJ had a vague idea about LDA, but didnt make full use of it untill his later novels.

Anyone got an answer about GL and LDA?

That is my opinion as well.
