    Default Your Top 5 anime?

So what's your top 5 anime? My top 5 changes all the time but here's my current top 5:

    1) Neon Genesis Evangelion
    2) Rurouni Kenshin / Samurai X
    3) Visions of Escaflowne
    4) Samurai Champloo
    5) Gungrave

I currently have Death Note, Gundam Zeta, Count of Monte Cristo and RahXephon in my to-watch list...

I don't watch a lot of anime. The only one I really liked was Death Note.
    Because I'm somewhere in between,

Nice, i'm watching that right now. About 1/4 through. It's a pretty addicting series since the show is heavily serialized. The concept and premise is very original. I never seen any show quite like it.

I've watched so many animes. But my favourite and most memorable ones are probably Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass, Peacemaker Kurogane, Clannad.

I'm not sure I've watched that many to choose, but I love:-

    Dragonball
    Dragonball Z
    Neon Genesis Evangelion

Hellsing was pretty nice, but it lacked the charm which the aforementioned three had. It also didn't end properly, and I assume it's one of those where you need to read the manga to know what really happened. Am currently watching Black Butler.

Maybe it's my age or generation... but it seems no one has named the classics

    1) Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star)
    2) Yuyu Hakushou
    3) Hareruya Boi (Hallelula Boy)
    4) City Hunter
    5) Toss up between Lupin the 3rd / Saint Seiya

I will have to separate my anime list into series and movies. I just really cannot mix the two together because they are just too different. My top 5 series, in no particular order (it changes very frequently), are:
    - Cowboy Bebop (one of the first anime series I watched and still one of my favourite. The music, the character, the atmosphere, the coolness. What not to like!)
    - Planetes (Garbage man in space. Only anime can make something like that interesting Again, I am blown away by the character development, the interaction betwen the crew is just so much fun. The ending is also one of the best)
    - The Twelve Kingdoms (I'm just so drawn in by the depth and character development. The protagonist really annoys the hell out of me the first 5 episodes but she grew into such an awesome character. Things like that just make me love this series so much. Shame there is only 45 episodes available. Glad to see someone mentioning this on their list also!)
    - Azumanga Daioh (One of the funniest series. All the characters are just so adorable.)
    - Baccano! (One of the best opening scenes around. Amazing characters despite there being over 20. Great action, violence, comedy. There should be more anime like this made!)

Honorable mention goes to Bokurano (very touching and heartbreaking story). There are probably a few others that I cannot recall right now.

Also, if I want to let nostalgia comes into play, then I will have to add Doraemon and Saint Seiya in there too

Having just found out what my childhood Cantonese cartoons are called in Japanese, I'll add Godmars to my list - I followed it almost to the end. Starzinger was also very entertaining, although I'm not sure if I'll put it up there with the other favourites. Daltanias was wonderful, although I only ever watched one episode, but the impact is there. Again, don't know enough to really rate it.

    My list would be:

    Dragonball
    Dragonball Z
    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    Godmars
Starzinger (for lack of any other option, for now)
