actually he made an agreement with OYF that he will spare him three times if he promises not to hurt HR, through he believed that HR had died in the swamp, he still kept his word. the swamp was the third time. the last time GJ fough with OYF over ten yrs later during ROCH, he waas superior to OYF but because an innocent person was threatened during their fight, he held back and got injured through he injured OYF as well. GJ recovered his energy in a few hours after that while OYF needed seven days.

Well, when he had OYF trapped on the cliff earlier, that would have been the third time, but he didn’t save him then. I think he was more concerned about finding out if he knew of HR’s fate when OYF was trapped in the quicksand.
What are you fighting for? Just mix them into pissing beef balls, stupid.

I dont remember having seen this in the 2006 TV adaptation. Was it on there?

That adaptation missed out everything between the introduction of Yang Guo and him being taken to Mount Zhongnan. While the TVB adaptations add a load of extra and inferior material, they also include almost everything in the novel that is filmable. Thus the 1983 adaptation has that scene in its correct sequence, and the bits leading up to it and following it.
