Default Qu San and the attack on the Yangs and Guos

We know that the Guo and Yang households were attacked by Duan Tiande at the beginning of LOCH. It was mentioned shortly before that Qu San's wineshop was quiet. We know that Qu Lingfeng was killed by a palace official at some stage. So the question is: at the time of the attack on the Yangs and Guos, was Qu San still alive?

Is Qu San the wineshop owner?
I reckon he's probably hiding when the soldiers arrive. More because he's practical than because he's a coward.

I think the implication is that he is dead.

Qu San was the crippled owner of the wine shop where Guo Xiaotian and Yang Tiexin hung out. Some time after the Qiu Chuji episode, the sworn brothers caught him returning from a raid on the palace, and felt his martial arts to be no lower than Qiu Chuji's. Later in the story, Huang Rong deduced that the skeleton with the broken legs belonged to her father's disciple Qu Lingfeng, aka Qu San.
