Ooohhh, Yan Kuan looks hot in military costume! I'm very superficial...I like to watch series with really hot guys. Peter Ho's hot grimace on "Three Kingdoms" DVD cover was enough to make me sit through the whole series.

I will confess...ME TOO! I've been so pissed of lately that YK's been appearing as guest roles and what not...but Yan Qing is a really meaty role that I think is very suitable for him. I'm also a Zhang Han Yu fan lol. I love alot of the female casting for this series too...

The trailers, which have English subs, were quite epic...but depressing.

I've been waiting for Yan Kuan to have a much more meaty role than the lousy roles he gets from Yu Zheng. Sammul Chan's substantially meatier role than Yan Kuan's bit role totally spoilt Mei Ren Xin Ji (Schemes of a Beauty) for me.

The 3D graphics I see on Chinese dramas still look super fake. But of course, it would be too expensive to use Hollywood-type animation a la Jurassic Park.

After trailers I wouldn't say, that show looks cheap. Maybe budget will allow good and realistic 3D tiger

I just saw the trailer. The story-telling feels average, but a lot of great actors are in this show. I have this feeling this might be the only remake which is better than the classic. By great actors, I mean actor with great acting chops, eg Huang Haibing, Gao Hu, Li Zhong Han, Chen Long and veterans like Yang Zi, Li Zi Xiong. Amazing cast.

I watched bits and pieces just to test the downloaded quality

in eps. 22 there's a battle between Wu Song and the tiger
they use real tiger... at least when they show the tiger alone.
Lucky they didn't use CGI for that scene

The first part up to episode 36 is being sold in stores now. I'm waiting for the whole series to be out before buying it. Hope they won't sell it on compressed discs. The original colour should be great. I was a bit disappointed with the DVD for Shadow of Empress Wu because I know the original colour of the show is much more stunning and flattering, esp the costumes, flora and grand estates. Hope the manufacturer would be kind and not butcher the DVD.

This show is quite good, starts off slow, with some draggy parts here and there but all in all worth the watch! Lu Zhishen is awesome haha, really love the guy in there. great perfomances from most actors, well at least the actors with the juicier roles.

Wu Song isnt played by the guy in the pictures posted here though.

Soundtrack is amazing! Especially the first opening song about brothers!

I'm watching this series right now and am at the Lin Chong arc. He and his wife really grew on me. Oh yes, there's also that gigantic monk with the hot temper...he's endearing in his own way. I'm still waiting for the overarching theme to appear. Han Dong looks really good in this series...though surprisingly thin.

I've been watching the series n I will be honest...I'm watching it for the dudes lol especially Han Dong, Yan Kuan, Hu Dong, Zhang Han Yu, and other actors..but I don't know their names. The actor who plays Hua Rong is quite dashing because the character is so manly n talented. The action sequences are quite well done but sometimes the over arching storyline is hard to grasp. Also, there are so many characters and most of them have their own special talent or story line so that muddles things up for me too. Oh, also a shout out to the actresses, there are many good looking females that randomly pop up here and there...but they tend not to have good ends :T

I like the series enough to purchase it for my own collection.
