Question What Mangas Are You Reading?

I'm reading Detective Conan and am currently up to chapter 49 (yep, still a long way to go). So far I like it better than the anime and live action adaptations.

I tried Detective Conan in the past, read up to around chapter 250+, but then i gave up.

There are currently 750+ chapters out there, and Conan is yet to be close to solve his fundamental case with the Black organization.

My impression of the series was that it was too long, somewhat repetitive, and man... too long.

I prefer Kindaichi shonen to Detective Conan. Is there an availability of manga for Galileo? I'll pick up that manga if there is.

I am halfway through reading Hikaru no Go, the part where Sai has "lost connection" with Hikaru and leaving a more skilled Hikaru to "fight his battle". Stopped reading it and will continue I have more free time.

From time to time, I read 拳儿 online: http://comic.veryim.com/manhua/quaner/vol_1.html.

    Anyone read this before? http://www.yesasia.com/us/1010719566-0-0-0-en/info.html

What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!

I don't care to sit by the window on an airplane. If I can't control it, why look?

Well if he does ever solve the case with the Black Organization, it would be the end of the series or they would have to change the name. Personally I find that basic plotline particularly contrived and merely a premise for the whole setup of the series and am more interested in the cases Conan actually solves. I was taken by surprise when Shinichi's parents
    click to show/hide spoilers
pretended to be part of the Black Organization and kidnapped Conan to scare him into going to the U.S. with them
, so I wonder how they will top that without letting readers down.

I prefer Kindaichi to Conan too. Does anyone have other good mystery manga recommendations? No, I don't think there's a Galileo manga.

I've also started reading Elfen Lied to see how it compares to the anime.

Detective Academy Q is ok as an anime. But like detective stories, it gets convoluted.

I think Han Solo's issue is that it's been way over 10 years and Conan is still going, sometimes it's better to just realise things need to end.

STill reading the usual. Naruto, Bleach, Claymore. Gonna start on One Piece.

Bleach and Claymore is getting so redundant though. However I enjoy the half naked girls in Claymore.
Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

Detective Conan is one of those mangas you want to read a lot of in the beginning, but then reach a plateau and will only continue in small doses from there on out if you actually choose to continue. I think I've reached that plateau at chapter 170+. I've also caught up on Ikigami, which has a very interesting concept. The film was a let-down, though. Not sure what I will start on next.

B-Shock, this low profile manga is a hidden gem. tired of lengthy 100+ chapter-ish fighting mangas? just read it, most likely you find it hilarious, touching and romantic.

just finished Densha Otoko (Train Man) in 3 hours.
the manga is very short (only 27 chapters), its artwork is not outstanding and looks a bit childish, but still i think it is really awesome.
Train Man is allegedly based on a true story happened in real life in which a Japanese geek (otaku) saved a rich young lady from being harassed by a drunken jerk on the train, afterwards the lady sent an expensive gift to the geek's home address to thank him, the geek, who had absolutely no experience in dealing w/ women, sought advices from members of an online disscussion board that he frequented, they advised him to ask her out for a date, then these 2 had more dates after each of which the geek described what happened to his online friends so that they could help him in courting the lady, finally the geek confessed his love to her and was reciprocated, at that time, thanks to previous online advices, he was no longer a geek, and after that he stopped visitng the disscussion board.
kinda like a male modern version of Cinderella,

well, i prefer detective conan over kindaichi because .. well ...
    1. it is not repative
    2. it is not repative
    3. it is not repative

kindiachi would actually dream to have an episode that is as awesome as Detective Conan Episode 345.

well, maybe if they copy detective conan, they will have better luck next time.

anyway, i think most people should not even start with detective conan because they obviously can't even read; detective conan

even so, unlike kindiachi, detective conan has a main storyline and better cases. which detective show has episodes like Detect Conan Episode 230.

answer: none and that's why detective conan is so popular.
well, now you know what i like.

Currently reading Aquarian Age: Juvenile Orion vol. 2.

Not much depth to the characters so far. Main girl, Kirihara Mana is a Mary Sue.
