Default Swordsmanship skills of elite martial artists not thought of as swordsmen?

Many elite martial artists are known as swordsmen...or at least known to have used swords on occasion: Dook Goo Kau Bai, Central Divinity Wong Chung Yeung, Ancient Tomb Sect Founder Lam Chiu Ying, East Heretic Wong Yerk See, Yeung Gor, Little Dragon Girl, Cheung 3 Fung, Cheung Mo Gei, Fung Ching Yeung, Ling Wu Chung...and in Gu Long's universe, Sai Mun Chui Sheut, Yip Goo Sing, Yin 13, Tse Hiu Fung, Ah Fei, Ging Mo Meng, etc. Even many martial artists not known to regularly use swords have exhibited fairly good swordsmanship: Gwok Jing, Chow Bak Tung, Luk Siu Fung, Lee Chum Foon, etc.

What about the following individuals, who were definitely elite martial arts, but never depicted as using swords?

    The Janitor Monk

    Hui Juk

    Teen San Tung Lo

    Mo Ngai Tze

    Kiu Fung

    Siu Yeun San

    Mo Yung Bok

    Kau Mor Tze

    North Beggar Hung 7 Gung

    West Poison Au Yeung Fung

    Kau Cheen Yan

    Golden Wheel Monk

Do you imagine that any of these individuals might also have had fairly good swordsmanship skills despite never being seen wielding a sword?

Wu Ya Zi was seen (in silhouette) sword sparring with Li Qiu Shui by the Wu Liang disciples.

Ren Woxing's swordsmanship is said to be of the highest calibre.

Murong Fu used a sword to defend himself against Duan Yu didn't he? Granted it was not much of a defense, but it was still something.

HYS was famous for his jade flute swordplay. even through he used a flute, it was a swordplay. he taught yang guo the swordskill and yang guo fought GSZ with the skill while using a sword. chen ying also learnt the skill and she used a flute as well.

What? Do you imagine that any of these individuals might hold the sword backwards?

Of course they'd still be "fairly good."

Come to think of it, half of those people would probably still be pretty good even if they held the sword backwards.
