You can't be too sure about that. IIRC, France stumbled nonstop in 1998 World Cup too, but ended up winning.

Anybody watched England-US game? US was lucky to get that goal eventhough they didn't play bad either.

Funny thing was, at the beginning of the game, I was kind of hoping England won't use David James for the goalie....and I got my wish...but now I seriously feel hopeless as it seems England still doesn't have a good goalie

I am excited because both NZ and Aus are in it. And NZ are going to win the world cup for sure. The draw will allow us to face Australia in the final. I hope Italy progress through the group as 2nd to NZ, it will be a shame to lose them early on. Hope France go through, despite their cheating ways, as well as eye-gouging South Africa, since they are host and all. England on the other hand can lose to US for all I care.

ps. btw this is FOOTBALL/soccer, not rugby, cause no way NZ will win a rugby world cup.

Why do you guys don't like England?

Wow Germany has the best showing so far of any team, beating Australia 4-0.

South Korea did good too with 2-0 win over Greece.

I haven't watched German play for a long time. I'm impressed with them now. They sure are the team to beat if they keep their level like this.

I dislike their media and "fans" more than the national team itself.

They should have no trouble advancing as top seed in their group, Ghana is probably the lone challenge in it.

England's Ledley King out for the entire competition due to groin injury.

This is so not surprising but still, I rolled my eyes.

OMG, what's with Italy now? Darn it, both of my teams can only get draw for their first games.

Better luck for the next ones!!

Well, I know they are the top seed in Group D, but sometimes even top seed has difficulties to win *sigh* I thought Australia had chance to fight for 2nd spot in Group D. I didn't watch Ghana, but they are a good team too.

I felt asleep during South Africa-Mexico game. Greece and S Korea game quite exciting. England plays quite well too.

Yes, remarkable. Second goal by Brazil is unexpected too.
