    Default World Cup 2010

Haha, yep premature, but the groups are out what do you guys think?

I am excited because both NZ and Aus are in it. And NZ are going to win the world cup for sure. The draw will allow us to face Australia in the final. I hope Italy progress through the group as 2nd to NZ, it will be a shame to lose them early on. Hope France go through, despite their cheating ways, as well as eye-gouging South Africa, since they are host and all. England on the other hand can lose to US for all I care.

ps. btw this is FOOTBALL/soccer, not rugby, cause no way NZ will win a rugby world cup.

I can't wait too! But some stars won't be at this World Cup.

Arshavin, Ibrahimovic, Given, Cech, Rosicky, Berbatov, Adebayor, Dzeko, Misimovic, Hleb, Van Buyten, Vermaelen, Benayoun and Robbie Keane.

I can only predict South Africa not even making past the group stage.

They have played some of the most horrendous friendlies in the last year.

Which is the worst host country ever?

England this time? It has been a real long time.
    Maybe Spain? First time.

I'm hoping England & US can make it through the 2nd round from Group C. They *should* be able to make it. So does Italy in Group F.

As always, I will root for Italy & England. My biggest worry for Italy is most of their players are older. Although their experiences will help, their stamina might not be as good as the young guns.

Han Solo : I also can't see South Africa to make it to the 2nd round....but the host country usually do pretty well & pull few upsets. And I hate the French anyway, so I really don't care for group A.

Wow, an England and Italy fan *shudder*. And you hate Nadal!

I don't think RSA will make it either. I hope Australia will make it to next round, but that is one tough group, especially when I want Germany to go through too.

Why are you shuddering, yittz? Are we on the opposite side too on soccer?

I'm okay with Spain soccer team, I don't hate them like I hate Nadal

Yes we are. I am surprised I even like blueberries. I mean how can you support the POMs, and Italian cheats!! If Italians don't dive at the smallest of challenges, Australia would have got to the quarters.

Spain is ok, they play attractive football at least.

    I'm cheering for England.

It's too bad that Beckham is out with an injury

Don't waste your time only to get disappointed in the end. Seriously after years of support I'm too fed up with England.

My heart keeps screaming out "Portugal", even when I meant to say "Spain".

What do you guys think of Argentina's chances this year? It's not very optimistic with Maradona as the national coach... :\

Maradona is morale strenght for Argentina, but I almost thing he is also the biggest weakness for the team. The squad itself is very pretty strong, Messi and friends, very big chance for them.

    so, day 1 prediction?

    S.Africa - Mexico 2-3
    Uruguay - France 0-2

Hope Australia does well even though I don't have a lot of faith in them...

    Hope England doesn't go through
