This book was AMAZING. Thanks again to Foxs for translating it.

Book 6 was very good, and book 5 was even better. Maybe Gu Long was already concocting the story for book 5 when he wrote book 3, as Wooden Taoist and Pine Hermit were featured in it as well. There is a lot of continuity between book 5 and the earlier books, this is something that I like very much.

Overall this book was great, I like the characters in the Mansion of Spirits, plot and I found the ending satisfying. The poetic justice was a nice touch, and Wooden Taoist was a fine villain, his ability surpassed even Lu Xiaofeng.

One thing I'm wandering about, the 4 Wu brothers who were expelled from Shaolin, they were obviously EXTREMELY powerful, so why did they fail to kill Tie Jian when the lanterns were extinguished? Tie Jian was not even injured.

I was under the impression that none of the disguised phantoms actually made it to Wudang. LXF knew how each of them looked like, and together with his network of counter-spies they might have dealt with them all the same way he himself dealt with Cousin, Hook and Housekeeper. The cries in the dark at Wudang might have all been staged.

Shi He made it, though, and the four monks made it as far as the restaurant, but probably sometime after that they were dealt with. After all, it wasn't just those in his team who were replaced in Chapter 15.

I am curious, though, which Madam Gongsun was close enough to him to be let into the secret. Ouyang Qing? Wouldn't she have been upset at his relationship with Liu Qingqing? Of the seven Gongsun sisters, Daniang and Siniang were the closest to him, but Daniang was dead and it would be weird to write Siniang back into the story having written her out as LXF's love interest in Book 4 without killing her off. Erniang might feel gratitude to LXF for saving her life, but it's extremely unlikely LXF would trust her, an ex-villain, with such a vital secret even if she'd genuinely reformed. He didn't seem to be have any particular relationship with Sanniang, Wuniang, Liuniang and Qiniang, even if he was on friendly terms with most of them.

Ah, that makes sense! Indeed, Canine Master's final decision of drawing portraits for all the masqueraded masters is a lot more useful than putting moles or pockmarks on them.

It's a tough break for the Mansion of Spirits guys though. Whether the operation is a success or failure, whether they honor their loyalty to Head Sabre Honcho or not, it seems they were destined to either be killed by Honcho or captured by the heroes.

Unfortunately I only have vague recollections of the Gongsun ladies. I remember the battle between Daniang and Lu Xiao Feng in book 2, and Ouyang Qing being a famous prostitute in book 1, but not much else. I haven't read book 4 yet. I'm reading the books in reverse haha. Went 1-2-3-6-7-5.
