Default [New] Meteor, Butterfly, Sword 2010

Another adaptation of Gu Long's Liuxing, Hudie, Jian. Although I have only seen the movie version by Michelle Yeoh and Donnie Yen (which I believe is a very loose adaptation), I am still not too familiar with the storyline and plots.

Hoot...good-looking cast. Though, I never really liked the plot for this story.

Pretty cool The cast looks pretty good. I'm not sure about Baron Chen's acting (never seen him before) but from the picture, his imagine seems to fit what I had imagined.

I wonder how much of the story they'll be changing though, hopefully for the better. Not that the original story was bad, but i don't think there was enough plot to run an entire drama series. All I remembered was Meng agonizing in depression for half the time .

I don't remember too much, but from what I can recall, the main character, Meng Xinghun(?) is an assasin of this organization and gets his assignments from Madame Gao(?). He feels depressed about his like and job because he sees no point. Then one day he sees this girl with lonely eyes named Xiaodie(?).
    click to show/hide spoilers
And of course, some romance sparks. Then he finds out about her secret, that she has a kid and was married and other stuff about her family background(?). Then somewhere along the plotline, he gets betrayed or finds out he's been lied to by his boss. He finds out about some sort of conspiricy? Okay, I don't really remember how the rest of the plot goes...

Oh WOW, the cast of this series really is good looking Half of them are unfamiliar to me though. Are they newbies? Ivy Chen is just soooo super cute and Jordan He is hot! I hope they can act!

Funny you mention that, because Jordan He did acted as Andy in the series Mei Yan Fang Fei. I also think he is quite a looker and am looking forward to his character Ye Xiang since I loved Donnie Yen's Ye Xiang.

With the exception of Baron Chen and Zhang Xuan (who made their debuts in 2007), the above cast are not newbies at all. Ivy Chen is a Taiwanese actress while Wang Yan, Liu De Kai, and Victor appeared in numerous films before.

The only version I saw was the one with Adam Cheng a few years ago, as well as a couple of movies with Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh (which I didn't like at all) and one much older with Yue Hua (Lu Xiangchuan) and Lo Lieh (Han Tang) (I can't remember who played Meng Xinghun.. Fu Sheng or Derek Yee?). Looks like this Sun Xiaodie is trying to compete with Adam's version for the largest eyes ever.. =) not a bad thing given the amount of crying she needs to do, I think.

The Adam version was actually really good, even if it dragged in the middle with MXH's amnesia. Adam and Norman Tsui lent a lot of strength to the veteran presence, while Meng Xinghun, Gao Laoda, Sun Xiaodie, Shi Qun, Ru Er and Ye Xiang were all very likeable. I read that Adam's Sun Yubo was far more gentle and benevolent than how he really is in the novel, so it will be interesting to see how Liu Dekai handles the role - he was awesome in Book and Sword.

The cast looks really good for this one.. even the hairstyle of Meng Xinghun is similar to the Adam version.

I've read the transaltion thus far in the translations forum. [thanks xJx!] The book seems really cool. I haven't seem to be able to find out any information about the Thousand Roc King's daughter, if she is his daughter? I have not watched the Adam Cheng version w/ Allen Ting, but it seemed like there was some love triangle involved? How did that progress?

In some online vids, I'd see Xiao De/MXH/Cute Girl w/Hideous Bangs in some sort of personal entanglement. There was great chemistry though just in the vids alone. That Xiao De was so KyUtE, and of course I like Ding Zi Jun. Ive Chen is really cute, but the other SXD was prettier. Well, I guess both would believably possess the ability to melt some cold assassin's heart ::shrugs:: I can't say because I'm not a cold assassin, nor am I that type of female haha.

LDK is badass. I think he'd be a great Yubo; fair but really shrewd and frankly almost *psychic*. Can't wait!

I can't remember the details, but iirc, after MWH lost his memory, Ru Er saw that Xiao Die was really more suitable for him, and pulled out. She ended up with Shi Quan, MWH's third brother, who was really a great catch in his own right (probably greater, imo).

Yes, her hairstylist should be shot - although there was one phase when she was without that hairstyle, and she was really really beautiful.

Thanks! And what an understanding female that Ru Er is. Both females had their own attractiveness, I guess.

Anyone know of any rumored air date for this new version? Digging the costumes, even though they're kind of dark...I guess it's fitting for the nature of the story?

This current one that hasn't been aired? Well, since it's in the Mainland China TV Series section, it's safe to bet that this is a China production. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Baron Chen and Ivy Chen are both Taiwanese. It's not uncommon to see such cross overs. They both have this Taiwan "look" about them, and IMHO, they have characteristically modern faces. But if the series is mostly produced and "Made in China" then it's Chinese.

Oh yeah, Liu De Kai is also from Taiwan, yes? He was in the original Dream Behind the Curtain w/Vivian Chen.
