I am having a dorothy sayers binge currently, and have old paper copies in malaysia about 7 hours by air travel away.
Is it that unethical for me to read it online for free?

If you already have legal hardcopies then 'technically' it's ok. I find reading off a computer screen extensively hurts my eyes though.
if they are legally free, why not. im used to reading stuff off the comp. but if they are not supposed to be free and you're obtaining via piracy, than nope. but thats my principle, i cannot extort others to follow my ways.
i read a lot of books online from here.... http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/
totally legal and totally free. they're all old books where the copyright has run out. i've read anna karenina, vanity fair, a lot of dumas and hugo, jane austen, etc.
