I agree whole-heartedly! RWX, Tiger is right. I find that a lot of the ideas and characters in JY's novels are based on ROTK and probably other novels too. If you've read ROTK, you'll know what I mean. If you think Gu Long is a biter, than JY is 10x's worst. I'm also not naive enough, like Tiger, to think that LGZ didn't get his ideas from plays/operas/stories either.Originally posted by TigerWong
Whatever. Maybe JY should stop biting GL's 6 Yang Palm or use the sword ideas from Tale of Washing Swords in Smiling Proud Wanderer. Forget Xian Tian or Wu Xiang (BTW - TSATE and DGSD were written around the same time), maybe anytime someone uses Dragon in their kung fu they should consult JY's lawyers too.
Not to say there are no similiarities in their works, but that's not surprising as they were friends who were bound to exchange some ideas. And I'm not naive enough to believe that there was absolutely no borrowing taking place ever (and it goes both ways). I just find it amusing that JY fans always seem to enjoy pointing out the most minor details and automatically attribute it to "stealing", whereas GL fans never seem to really make a fuss about it when they can say the same things. (Well, maybe I should take that back since I hear theres an entire essay about JY ideas taken from GL, but in general, GL fans don't.)
To Athena: I didn't plan on coming back here for a long long while onced I'd reach 1,000 posts, but unfortunately, someone deleted 3 of my posts so I'm back again just for the 3 posts (and this is one of them). Don't be sad and contemplating. I've been doing that for the last decade and I've always ended up back in the same spot I started... Nowhere! It's pointless to dwell back on the past. Instead, we should just move on with our lives. I think we all have demons to subdue, but as we all know, time is the ultimate healer of all.
Btw, I'm still following your story and I find it more and more intriquing for its' unpredictablility (Goffy exempted ). The more I read this story, the more I like Zhu Lei'Er. I used to like Yu PeiYu the most, but now I think I like the Parrot more. He's kind of funny for by just inmitating someone's voice, he can scare the day lights out of them.
Anyway, goodbye to all. One more post and I can say goodbye to all for a long long time... Unless, someone decides to delete one of my posts again for no reason. $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://216.40.249.192/s/cwm/3dlil/eek13.gif')
