I need help and I'm hoping a kind soul in this forum can assist with my problem. After a recent power outage, I can no longer access the Internet through my D-Link DI 524 router, either with my desktop or laptop. If I hook up my computer directly to my modem, I have Internet connection. So at least I know the modem is not the issue.
I have tried all sorts of methods:
1. Unplug and shut down both modem and router
2. Repeatedly reboot the computer
3. Hit the reset button on the back of the router and held it for 20 secs
4. Using the D-Link router installation cd to re-install the router. The cd would stall at the router configure stage
Also, my ip address has changed. Before the power outage, it was 192.168.0.1. Now, when I look up my ip address through the cmd command, it is 192.168.1.1
I will forever be grateful for any help to fix this.
