Soft spot for minor characters/sidekicks?

I just read the LXF - Silver Hook casino. Quite a good a read. However the best moment was when Ximen Chuixue suddenly showed up, did his thing and than vanished again without a trace.

To me, when reading Wuxia novels, I always get excited the most when certain side characters finally appear. Like Mr Simon in my latest read. Nostalgia at it's best for me.

To me, there are quite a few usually.

From the LXF series - Simon and Si Kong Zai Xin, especially the latter.

From the Chu Lu Xiang series - Hu Tiehua and Wuhua

From LOCH/ROCH - ZBT and MQF

From DGSD - Divine Croc and JMZ

If I had to pick only 1 it would definetly be Si Kong Zai Xin.

Which character evokes these feelings of nostalgia for you? Like you can't wait for them to reappear again and your always holding your breath that they might appear out of no where in the couple of paragraphs?

p.s. Is it me or are side characters from GL novels way more memorable than JY side characters? While the opposite is true for the Main characters? Well, that's my opinion at least.

Hua Man Lou in LXF series. Was always happy to see him in the novels. Too bad he does appear much after book1. I also like Xi Kong Zai Xin.

Those who come to mind right now.
Hua Man Lou. My absolute fave in LXF series so far.
Shi Yun in Ming Jian Feng Liu. Very marginal. Doesn't get to do much and I hate Gu Long for introducing such a cool guy and not utilizing his full potential... (He's rather Hua-Man-Lou-ish in some respects, actually).
Yelu Qi in ROCH (whom I'd take over YG any day).
Li Yan in BXJ - but I can only judge by the latest adaptation, so I'm not sure if I'd dig the book version just as much (but most likely I would - unless there are major differences between the novel and the ZJZ series as far as Li is concerned).

Guo Po Lu in ROCH. I want to know more about this twin of Guo Xiang. His sister gets all the spotlight!

Don't know why, but I've always liked Ouyang Ke. Maybe it's the way he lusts after Huang Rong and fails at it so miserably. That guy was rather funny. I would like to see what he could've achieved in the future instead of dying so early.

Xia Xueyi in Sword Stained with Royal Blood. The coolest character in the entire novel.
