    Default Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Has anybody seen this series? I haven't watched it yet, but it seems interesting.

I've been watching this series lately, it is kinda good I find it to my liking. The best part is episode 5 where there were a lot of insight given for most of the major characters making them much more interesting and finally finishing with a very cool battle in the end. If you are not offended by gore and nudity then by all means I recommend you watch this series.

I've been following this series too. Personally, I would prefer to see less nudity. The gore can get overwhelming sometimes. However, the characters are starting to get very interesting. I find myself rooting for Spartacus as the underdog and really hope he finds his wife.

i've watched the first 5 episodes now. i really like the gore, but it's a little too stylized and unrealistic. and some of the dialogue is pretty cheesy, but i think this series is ok. not especially thought provoking or anything, but good campy fun. i've never watched rome, so i can't compare, but comparing spartacus to tudors, tudors is much more thought provoking.

and i think that wife of his must be..... despoiled many times by now.

yup, totally agree. this series is purely for entertainment. scriptwriters definitely won't win any awards. events are often very cliche and predictable. and it is very sad that sura must be suffering immensely as a slave . i find it very touching that spartacus is so willing to sacrifice his life in order to save sura.

yeah, so that actress was in like one or two episodes, flashed us, and then kaput. maybe there will be a new female lead for spartacus?

Probably but I think she will still be seen around during a couple of flash backs here and there. Episode 7 is also interesting, I don't speak much of the story as I don't want people to read spoilers.

‘Spartacus’ Is Delayed as Star Has Cancer
    Compiled by DAVE ITZKOFF

The Starz cable channel said on Tuesday that it would delay production of the second season of its series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” so the actor Andy Whitfield, left, who plays the title character, can begin treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Starz said in a news release that Mr. Whitfield “discovered the cancer during a routine checkup” and that his doctors “have stated his condition is very treatable and was detected in its early stages.” Starz began showing “Spartacus,” an action series about that Roman slave turned revolutionary, in January. The show quickly became a hit for the cable channel, drawing record ratings for its debut and seeing its audience grow.

Well its true its only up to episode 7 aired. But dvd screeners are all over torrent sites so I could watch in advance. I don't mind buying the actual DVD set when it comes out, this show is my cup of tea.

You mean the male thingy? I don't know if its real or cgi but why cringe over something like that? The females over the spartacus boards kinda liked it lol!

it was just unexpected and random. if it's cgi..does that mean they can give a girl one, too?

and have you noticed that spartacus really likes to stab ppl through the head?
