i feel bad for apolo anton ohno. i don't think he deserved to be disqualified in the 500m, but he handled it in a classy way. good for canada though to win at home in the 500 and the relay.

It didn't look like he actually pushed the Canadian skater, but the latter's fall appeared to indicate otherwise. I agree that Apolo's commentary on NBC after the fact was not good sportsmanship.
Any thoughts on Korea's DQ from the women's short track relay? It didn't look like they should have been DQ'ed, but death threats to the judge are totally unnecessary.
I'm really confused why in skating there are no lanes for skaters like in track? With the technology we have today, can't there be light beams or something done to the ice so the skaters don't have to fight their way through a crowd?
And Ohno really shouldn't complain. He won a bunch of medals already. Shouldn't have said those words.
I think the Korean girl did pushed the Chinese and deserved to be DQ.
That's why I hate short-track speedstaking, it's like roller derby on ice. It's such an ungraceful sport. There always controversies, whining and accusations. I wouldn't mind at all if the take the sport out of the Olympics.
to me, it looked like ohno barely touched him and was being defensive. but hey, i'm not the guy who went down. i guess he's the only one who'll ever know for sure.
the korean woman clearly pushed the chinese one on the boob. the koreans are known for being very aggressive in short track.
and i agree lanes would much the sport much less exciting. in my opinion, what makes short track special is that it's not just about speed. it's about trying to gain the upper hand and slipping by the skaters or not letting people pass you. there's a lot of strategy involved.

O Canada! Yesterday's gold in men's ice hockey was the cherry on top. The after-party was incredible. Despite all its flaws, I think this year's Olympics were a good show.
Congrats to all the athletes!!!

Yep that hockey game is an instant classic, would have been crazy if the Canadians were the ones down 2-1 & tied it up near the end then winning it in OT. Overall these games were awesome, can't wait for London & Sochi.
even though i was rooting for the US in hockey, i'm happy for canada. they seriously wanted it a lot more than we did.

the olympics are over, but this is kinda related. evan lysacek is gonna be on dancing with the stars...and it will be seriously lame if he doesn't win. basically, he dances on the ice! and he's an olympic athlete, in the prime of his life. he's strong, flexible, yeah, he better win. i should go put a bet in.
