Are they the only two choices? Cuz I sorta thought Yuen An Hong Lit (sorry butchered the name) loved Bao Xi Ruo more despite the lies and murdering - yes this is my take based on watching LOCH 2008.

Reasons (again not really in the book but based on LOCH 2008):
    - Built replica of Cow Village in palace
    - Constantly thought of things to make her happy
    - Never married Bao Xi Ruo but never married anybody else or took concubines despite his lordship status
    - Loved and cared for YH as his own son and designated heir all through YH's childhood - gave him the best in terms of clothing, food, tutors
    - Stood up to Yang Tie Xin and declared his love facing redicule by his subordinates that he was raising bastard child
    - Loved and cared for YH even after his mother's death

Not to say some of his actions weren't evil but he never hid around and made excuses or blamed others.

If you love somebody, set them free. If they don't come back, it wasn't meant to be.

    How romantic

Too bad love in actuality is some nitty, gritty business that needs some manipulating and logic every now and then.

Love isn't that complicated. However, relationships are.

if commiting suicide = emo, then there are no emos in this world

Emos' purposes are to survive in this world while showing their emo'ness in public.

This can only happen so many times to a person before that person begins to adopt a nihilistic attitude: is *ANYTHING* meant to be?

His love was not reciprocated. It's one sided. So not qualified for the poll 'Whose love for each other is greater?' which need the couple to be mutually in love.

then I would still rank GJ/HR higher than the poll couples.
