Default SMCS or YGS vs. the Four Imperial Guardsmen

During LUK SIU FUNG: BEFORE AND AFTER THE DUEL, Luk Siu Fung met the Four Imperial Guardsmen: Ngai Tze Wan, Yan Sin, Tao Fong, and Ding...something. These four were very good swordsmen (had to be, considering they were the imperial guard); Luk Siu Fung remarked that no single person in the world could stand up to all four of them at the same time.

Really? Were they that good collectively? We *almost* saw Yip Goo Sing vs. the Four Imperial Guardsmen, but Yip hightailed it out of the emperor's bedroom (possibly because he knew he stood no chance against all four guardsmen?). Do you really believe that even the likes of Sai Mun Chui Sheut or Yip Goo Sing would not be able to defeat all four guardsmen?

I kind of like the fact how people teaming up can beat the elites, unlike in JY novels where they are toys unless there's 7 of them with a special formation.

So do I. There's something comforting about the idea that nobody is so powerful that no combination of other fighters can defeat him/her.

Didn't happen. It wasn't the guardsmen who appeared, it was Lu Xiaofeng. He blocked Ye Gucheng's strike with those two magic fingers of his, at which point YGC realized that the game was up and decided to make a tactical retreat. It was only then that the Four Guardsmen appeared, along with dozens of other swordsmen, and of course Ximen Chuixue.

Wait! I read it as LXF only jumped into the room but he did not catch the strike as it was never unleashed or never completed due to LXF's interruption perturbing YGC.

Back to the question, those guardsmen weren't even in the top 10 swordsman list. According to SMCX, there were at least a bunch of 4 or 5 swordfighters besides himself and YGC who could inflict similar sword wounds but those 4 goons were considered 'not capable enough'.

I'd say one stance of the Outer Heaven Angel would wipe all 4 of em out.
