Well Xiao Feng wasn't included in that particular most loved character thread, and I'm sure if you asked most people who they liked better between Xiao Feng and Zhang Wuji, I think you'd get a pretty straight-forward answer.

I'm just telling you the opinion that is generally accepted. And since it is generally accepted, I was just surprised that it is not reflected well here.

I happen to _like_ YG. But most of the time I'm deconstructing arguments for his supposed undisputed superiority at the end of ROCH.

Zhang Wuji had a history of underperforming aganst fighters whom we know to be weaker or even much weaker than him. Xiao Feng is described by the author as overperforming and overcoming fighters who were stated to be more powerful than him. What do you expect?

Guo Jing can outlast Zhang Sanfeng who is considerably older.

Zhang Wuji's QKDNY and Tai Chi should be able to hold Xiao Feng at bay until Guo Jing defeats Zhang Sanfeng. Then GJ and ZWJ can polish off Xiao Feng.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking.

By combining Gwok Jing and Cheung Mo Gei, you have an automatic handicap on the team because you're pairing up two guys who are reluctant to go all out or hurt anyone. Gwok Jing doesn't take it to the extremes that Cheung Mo Gei does, but both would fall into the realm of "non-aggressive" combatants (which sounds like an oxymoron, I know, but you all get what I mean).

On the other side, you have Kiu Fung, who is aggression personified in the Jin Yong universe. Cheung 3 Fung is also a rather non-aggressive type (though again, not at Cheung Mo Gei's extremes), but won't be able to offset the huge disparity in ferocity created by Kiu Fung's presence.

Cheung Mo Gei's pacifity balances out well with Kiu Fung's ultra-aggressiveness, whereas Gwok Jing and Cheung 3 Fung are both mild and thus, form a natural balance.

Of course, he never fought another Greats-level fighter either (what I call "Dook Goo Kau Bai Syndrome"). The only such potential opponent available was Cheung 3 Fung, and Mo Gei and Grandteacher weren't going to rumble.
