    Rude , Very Rude .

It seems u are being rude to HYS rather than me . How can a lowly person like me think of such a thing .

Your english seems to be rather poor , that's why u did not undetrstand my good intentions . There's no need to explain it to you but for the benefit of others I WAS just asking if a new thread had been started for ODE TO GALLANTRY since the last post was posted three months back .

Anyway I hope not to see u again artician or pacifician or atlantician or whatever u are .

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

As for HYS i liked ur translation very much and hope to see more of ur work in the future .

    Hi Atlantean,

Thanks for trying to explain how things work in the Ode to Gallantry (OTG) translation. I think Yang Chong is quite new to this, so he might have misread the tone of your post. Nevertheless, I appreciate your effort to making the explanation.

    Hello Yang Chong

I'm glad you like this story. Updates, including the last 100 lines of Chapter 9, are coming soon, probably after Chinese New Year in February. I work full-time as an educator/researcher, and the cyclical nature of my job means that completed chunks of the OTG translation comes in cycles as well. In this sense, I am probably the most fortunate translator in the wuxia community, because all my long-time readers understand and appreciate the accuracy of the translation and the quality of the language used. Therefore, these readers have always been very patient when it comes to updates.

Just in case you're wondering, Wuxiapedia http://wuxiapedia.com is the official website for my translation of OTG, and anything similar elsewhere has (in the past) proven to be plagarised works. In addition to the chapter text, there is also a "Facts and Figures of OTG" http://www.wuxiapedia.com/novels/jin...ts_and_figures which provides expanded information on the story in easy-to-use categories.

There is also a blog http://hysbht.blogspot.com where periodic news about the OTG translation is posted. News on the other wuxia translation and annotation projects that I currently have on my hands is also available there.

Thanks again, Yang Chong, for your interest in OTG. Please let me know (through this thread, my blog or Wuxiapedia) if there is anything further that I can help you with, with regards to OTG.

    Yours sincerely
    HYS / Yushi HUANG

    Hi HYS,
Thanks for the update and the matured response to Yang Chong. I expressed similar sentiments elsewhere and Fastclock came up with a good explanation of how things are done. I guess you understand how addictive this thing can be both from the translator and the reader's perspective. There are very few ppl like you and Fastclcok that can do such a superb job at bringing the translation to life in the english language. You must also be patient with us if the addiction overcomes our good manners.

    Keep that engine running!

Ah Xiu has just started to be moved and fired by Shi Potian's solicitous care.
i'm so eager to know how their romantic relation will grow.
Hope you'll have spare time to keep up handling chapter 10.

    I'm glad everyone's happy ... so far.

While I enjoy what I do in real-life (my job), I wouldn't mind translating full-time if ... Then again, I am horribly expensive, even to parents (of my students) who want personal tutoring for the children.

    caozigirl,
please refrain from making demands on our translators. I appreciate everything that they've done so its unfair to them to demand anything else of them. Thanks for the awesome read HYS!

Translating a chinese novel is not an easy task and HuangYushi has his day job and other real life matter to handle too. Please let him translate on his own pace. I bet HuangYushi took this Chinese New Year holiday to finish chapter 9 (as he usually does on holidays, i.e. catching up on his translations). So, be more understanding. HYS is doing this for free.

Besides 'Ode to Gallantry' (XKX), HYS is also translating 'Spear of Alarm' and 'Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain' and doing chapter summaries for 'Demi God Semi Devil'.

Yeah sorry Mr Huang, your works are much better than the other joker translators. Your the only translator with basically no flaws in the translation, and the translations are the most rich.
    Others just cannot compare really.
