Default Is it wulin custom to bury a slain warrior's weapon with him?

According to wulin customs, if you encounter a dead wulin warrior (or if you kill him yourself in fair combat), do you bury his weapon along with his corpse? What if one were to encounter the fresh corpse of West Poison Au Yeung Fung with his Snake Staff lying around nearby...or Yip Goo Sing with his sword? If you're not the greedy, opportunistic type who would take the weapons for yourself, are you supposed to bury the weapons with the warriors, or do you bury only the warriors and leave their weapons to rot?

Totally out of the question if it was an artifact, like the Heaven Sword or Dragon Sabre. You'd take it as your own. As for what is Kosher, I'm not sure, particularly if the weapon is as or more legendary than the user.

I kind of wonder what happened to Au Yeung Fung's Snake Staff myself. He was seldom seen without it during LOCH, but after the Second Mt. Hua Sword Tournament, he was never seen with it again. I don't think the Snake Staff made any more appearances during ROCH.

All the Greats had reached the "No Weapon Stage" by ROCH.

They did, but they still bothered to carry them (at least sometimes). East Heretic Wong Yerk See carried his iron flute for most of ROCH until he gifted it to Ching Ying. North Beggar Hung 7 Gung still carried a bamboo stick with him.

With something such as the Snake Staff, which was no ordinary wooden staff, I doubt Au Yeung Fung would just throw it away because he doesn't need it anymore. If nothing else, it'd be a great souvenir.

Could Ouyang Feng's obsession with the Jiuyin Zhenjing and subsequent deterioration in mental health have caused him to misplace/lose the snake staff by the time of ROCH?

Damn i guess i need not apply. But if you can make that disclaimer and given Au Yeung Fung's reputation... would anyone (other than Guo Jing) dare to bury it with him, prob booby trapped with poison to kill any weapon stealers/anyone who was good enough to touch it.

Possibly. If the staff did not reappear in ROCH, then it was lost at Mt. Hua at the end of LOCH. I believe it was last seen before Wong Yung pushed Au Yeung Fung over the proverbial psychological edge by uttering nonsense phrases to him. When Au Yeung Fung fought North Beggar Hung 7 Gung and East Heretic Wong Yerk See, he no longer had the Snake Staff on him.

Depends. In the Gulong universe in particular, fighters' weapons are often taken as trophies (if the fighter and/or the weapon were worthy, that is). This seemed particularly common amongst swordnerds; both Yan Shisan and Ximen Chuixue, amongst others, had this habit.

Hmmm...although it was never explicitly shown or mentioned, I would imagine Sai Mun Chui Sheut probably did collect Yip Goo Sing's sword after the duel on the imperial roof and put it on display in a crystal case back at 10,000 Plum Blossoms Manor.

The snakes were frozen in the pit along with Ouyang Feng, so he lost that particular staff there, and afterwards was occupied with pursuing Huang Rong and training with Guo Jing. Once he'd found Huang Rong, he wasn't going to return to the west and make another staff. By the time he was frightened off by Guo Jing, his mind was already on the edge, and he'd gone over by the time of the fights. With his mind gone, I don't think he was rational enough to make another snake staff.
