duan yu was given the yiyinji manual to return to shaolin by JMZ but he may not have actually practiced it. he did absorb all of JMZ's inner power after JMZ had mastered XWXG, and practiced yiyinji and the indian yoga techniques and gained their full benefits. so DY may have had equivalent ability as a practitioner of yiyinji but he would not have had the martial arts theories inside. DY did get more teachings from his uncle and the elders from four dragon temple on martial arts and perfected his skills. at least, skillwise, he would not be inferior to yideng.
