I want to read both too.. but if I can only pick one, I'd prefer Shen Lang's story. ;-)

yoz there everyone. this is a student who just finished his o levels here. to brush up my linguistic skills during the hols, i wouldn't mind translating this fantastic piece of work from Gu Long. So, if no one else is gonna pick it up, can I have the honour of doing it? :P

Heres a paltry attempt of mine(continued from where it was cut off):

The Seventh Lady, having lead the horse out of the gate, softly murmured "Up!" With a flip of his right arm,the Fire Child went gracefully up towards the horse, his left hand pulling at the Seventh Lady's right palm, but his seeking right hand found and held on to that ragged teenager's sleeve. With a burst of speed from the magnificent horse, the Fire Child and the ragged teenager were pulled outside the manor gate as well. The two were moving so gracefully in the air that they gave an impression of coloured flags being whipped up by the force a hurricane.

The various heroes present, though radiating fury, were so astounded by the skill displayed that for a moment, not one of them thought of giving chase. All that anyone could see was Liu YuRu whirling in the air and falling, her chest heaving heavily and quickly.

Tianfa Dashi barely managed to stay upright, his face a shade of green and white, and although he gritted his teeth, a smear of blood was seeping out of the corner of his mouth. If he had followed the flow of movement earlier and fell, he would have been alright, but instead his desire to win had gotten the better of him and he chose to held on forcibly. At this moment, feeling the turmoil in his energy and bloodstream, he knew he had incurred serious internal injuries.

By this time, eight burly fighters were atop the seven horses with three in front and four behind, forming two rows, trotting at a leisurely pace. They did not escape in a flurry so as to create a wall with this formation, preventing potential pursuers from getting to their master. They knew that as reknowned and chilvarous heroes, those in the manor would never lay a finger on them.

QiZhi grasped at Li ChangQing's shoulder, stepping forward and shouting" Pursue, Pursue! It will be too late if we wait any longer." His gaze went towards Duan Hongzhi. Duan Hongzhi hacked a dry cough, pretending not to have heard it. QiZhi then shifted his sight to Xu RuoYu, who was looking towards Jin BuHuan. Jin BuHuan laughed dryly and stated, "We two have no deep fued with her, what are we chasing her for?" Having witnessed the impressive skills of that ragged teenager, overcoming the combined attack of Liu YuRu and TianFa Dashi and defeating them so thoroughly, how could any of them be eager to pursue? Qizhi let out a long sigh, opening then shutting his mouth repeatedly, then with a hint of lament, said,"If the Seven Experts were of one heart, they would be indomitable, but who knew... who knew that they are just a pile of scattered sand, what a pity...... what a pity......"

Qiao Wu the Lion furrowed his brow and asked,"That person took of his mask and evidently is a child, may I inquire elder as to why we should pursue her?" Qi Zhi sighed and said,"Under her mask, why can't she camouflage herself using false skin? Afterall, the abilities of the Thirteen Devils to disguise themselves are unparalleled in the world." Qiao Wu was stunned for a moment, and upon realisation, said,"Oh, so that is how it is......" Jin BuHuan who had calculated that by now, the three would be far from this place, immediately shouted,"Sigh, why did elder not share his insight sooner... Sigh, Brother Xu, let us chase up to them". Pulling at Xu RuoYu, he dashed away with haste.

Hua Sigu shook her head and said with a light smile,"Xu RuoYu being entangled with this person is going to be really bad luck for him." Qiao Wu then stated,"Wait for me to catch a glimpse of what is going on." and leapt away. Hua SiGu said," Brother Wu, you will also fall for their trick..." but Qiao Wu was already far away. Composing herself, she bowed and said,"What venerable elder has instructed, this junior here will never forget..." Obviously concerned for Qiao Wu's safety, she was out of the door even before her sentence was finished. After a gush of wind, snow began to descend gently.

Liu YuRu was dazed for a moment. No one had any idea what she was thinking, and all of a sudden, she went to TianFa DaShi and said,"Is DaShi's injury serious?" TianFa Dashi replied furiously,"Who's injured? Its that youngster who's injured."

Liu YuRu then sighed,"Yes, the common enemy of my Wutai Sect and your Huashan Sect has escaped, but if DaShi is willing to work with me, revenge is on the horizon. May I know how Dashi feels about this proposal?" TianFa DaShi replied forcefully,"I have never allied myself with anyone." With a flick of his sleeve, he strode huge steps forward, but after only a steps, his knees were about to crumble. LiuYuRu revealed a smile at the edge of her mouth for a moment, then hurriedly went over and supported him and gently coaxed him,"In this harsh weather of frost and snow, would DaShi mind letting me escort you for some way?" TianFa Dashi was dumbstruck for a moment, then heaved a long sigh, then remained silent.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know that there are many areas that I have to improve on. Do try not to criticise me too negatively though and give constructive insights if possible. Also, can anyone give me a better translation for "Xiong2 Shi1"? I deliberated on that for awhile but only could come up with "The Lion". haha...

The snow and wind gradually intensified. QiZhi, watching these seven top exponents leave so hurriedly in the blink of an eye, felt a sense of chill reverberating throughout him. Gathering his clothes about him, he said softly," The people of the martial arts world.... sigh....". His left hand and right hand supporting LengSan and Li ChangQing respectively, he walked tentatively back into the main hall. Li Chang Qing said, "The seven top exponents might be of this calibre. But in the realm of the martial world, it is not improbable for there to be heroes other than these seven." QiZhi replied, "Sigh... true... sigh, the snows are blowing even more heavily, lets shut the door...."

Li ChangQing slowly turned his body, moving to shut the door. Then, from the recesses of the wind and snow came the voice of LengSan's usually drunken voice, singing,"The snows cover the Central Plains, none whom I know are still in the martial world, let me owe this cup of wine, the heavens... (cough)... (cough, cough).... the heavens are shedding tears......". The sound of the song was desolate, carrying a hint of helplessness within it. Li ChangQing listened to it in a daze, tears streaming down all of a sudden. For a long time, he did not dare to turn around....

Jin BuHuan pulled Xu RuoYu out of the manor, sprinting south. Xu RuoYu gazed about, and noted that the tracks of the horse led northwest. He could not help but stop, asking," Brother Jin, those few escaped northwest, why are we chasing to the south?" Jin BuHuan laughed loudly," You blockhead, who is chasing after them? The two of us were just looking for an excuse to leave. Had we stayed on, wouldn't we be looking for trouble?" Xu RuoYu couldn't control himself as he was dragged forward, but still could not resist shouting," Since we said to give chase, we should pursue for at least a while."

Jin BuHuan smiled coldly," Brother Xu, did you not see the degree of skill that teenager displayed? Even if we two caught up with them, what can we accomplish?" Xu RuoYu let out a sigh, saying, "That youngster is truly an unassuming master, to think that his skills are that astounding, no wonder the Seventh Lady treats him.... treats him that way." Jin BuHuan smiled, "Why does Brother Xu's tone sound so sour?" Xu RuoYu blushed, trying to argue his way out," I... I am only curious about his background."

    thanks.

as far as i know, he was trained in his family's skills from very young and is a genius. possessing a strong sense of justice, he donated his gold to contribute to the manor that Li ChangQing set up. Then, he went about slaying all the baddies he could find. then, he probably got injured somehow and met up with Zhu QiQi(the Seventh Lady). From then on, she got infatuated with him and when the youngster left, she followed after him, bringing us to the main part of the story. GL's stories tend to start when the hereos are in their prime, then slowly reveal their background, eg LXH's story, or XSYL.

I will do my best to update, prob is i'm taking up so many activities that this might be neglected at times. but dun worry, its a long time to poly(5 months) and I will stay on until at least then. cheers all!

Jin BuHuan stated,"No matter how good his skills, no matter what background he has, having infuriated that crowd today, the three masters of Virtue Manor, TianFa DaShi, and the rest will never let him off." His words barely finished, they could see admidst the snow some ten over riders, bearing down from the south. The black robes of the riders were whipped up by the raging wind, if one had just looked at it, it would have seemed like a storm cloud travelling on earth. Jin BuHuan's eyes lit up, smiling,"This ten over riders are strong and have solid horses, since they are moving so hurriedly through this snow, they must have some urgent business to attend to. Looks like a deal is in the making for me." Within the time span of saying those words, the ten over horses had sprinted nearby, and the seemingly stolid, black robed man with a curled goatee on the lead horse raised his whip, threatening,"You have no wish to live? Scram."

Jin BuHuan stood his ground in their path, giggling,"I, Jin BuHuan, is here seeking death. Do me a favour and crush me."

The burly man with the curled goatee paused the movement of his whip in mid air, and whistled the other riders to halt. He dismounted, apologising,"So its Hero Jin. I was hurrying along the road, and did not notice Master Jin along the way, deeply offending you, I deserve death. He balled his fist together and saluted Jin BuHuan with a bow. Jin BuHuan's gaze flickered up and down a few times and smiled,"I was wondering who it was, so it's Head Escort Zhan YingSong from Wei Wu's Escort Agency. Head Escort is in such a hurry, may I inquire as to what bandits you are pursuing?" Zhan SongYing sighed,"Whoever I am chasing may not be a bandit, but is even more cruel than them. To be frank with Hero Jin, although Wei Wu Escort Agency is not up to the mark, but with help from friends on both sides of the martial world, we have never failed a single mission, who knew that yesterday night our flag was stolen by a girl for no reason. I might be useless, but I am obliged to pursue, or else, how can the name of Wei Wu Escort Agency still be used?

Jin BuHuan's eyes swiveled about, smiling," Is the person Head Escort mentioned a lady draped in white, as well as a child robed in red?" Zhan SongYing was shocked, then smiled brightly,"Exactly! Does Hero Jin happen to know of their whereabouts?" Jin BuHuan did not respond, only staring at the black cloak made of wolf fur that Zhan SongYing was wearing for some time, then sighed,"Head Escort, where did you buy this cloak from, it looks grand when worn. If I were to become rich soon, I am going to purchase one no matter what." Zhan SongYing was stunned for a few moments, then immediately slipped it off, offering it to Jin BuHuan,"If Hero Jin doesn't mind it being old, please accept this gift..."

Jin BuHuan smiled,"How can I accept this?" Though he was saying that, his hand was already snaking forward to receive the cloak. Zhan SongYing hacked a dry cough, then said,"How can such a paltry item matter, if Hero Jin could point out the way for us, I would most definitely repay you..."
