Gongsun Zhi > Huang Rong?

Some believe this based on the fact that when Gongsun Zhi escaped, Huang Rong AND Li Mochou did not dare to chase him further.

However, from his first fight with Yang Guo, he was actually feeling pain from exchanging palms with Yang Guo. This suggests his internal energy may be lower than Yang Guo, who was still below Li Mochou at that time. So it seems unlikely that Gongsun Zhi can be > Huang Rong. It's more likely that Huang Rong just didn't have a compelling reason to chase him.

The book says "did not dare to". But I'm making an argument that in reality, Huang Rong > Gongsun Zhi (even Pre-16 years).

The book says "did not dare to". But I'm making an argument that in reality, Huang Rong > Gongsun Zhi (even Pre-16 years).

Her Dog Beating Stick Technique should be sufficient to shut down his two-blade technique, and that was the best thing he had.

IIRC, it said somewhere in the book that two pregnancies had made HR less powerful than before or something like that, but it shouldn't have made too big of a difference. Maybe another inconsistency? It's also possible that if she chased him, she might not be able to catch up.

Another reason she doesn't "dare" to chase could be that Huang Rong didn't want to leave her daughter alone with Li Mochou, which would have happened if she chased Gongsun. Granted, Yelu Qi and a few others were there, but they would not be a match for Li if she wanted to kill them.

Really, Huang Rong had no compelling reason to chase after Gongsun, so I think that's why she didn't.

OK, I consider the "not dare" problem solved. However, I just found there is another instance where both Huang Rong and Li Mochou thought either of them by herself might NOT be a match for Gongsun Zhi:

黄蓉和李莫愁相视一笑，均想：“此人武功既强，人又狡猾，自己若是落单，只怕不是他的敌手。”

But perhaps they overestimated Gongsun's ability, since the Reverse Yin Yang Blades is a confusing technique, but once you see through the trick, his power is reduced.

i also made the mistake of believing GSZ was weak due to YG taking one of his palms but GJ at a young age could match up against OYF for a limited time. YG's inner power had made a vast improvement to the point YG could withstand a great level strike. at the martial arts meet to elect a leader, his hands bleed from the force of stopping one of JLFW's wheels. but after HYS treated him, he made a break through in his qi and was able to release his vital flow. HR was equal to LMC who was considered a level above XLN or YG. JLFW and GSZ should be considered a level above LMC and HR.
