Trailer looks pretty good. I like how you can easily tell YM's character is from modern-day by her gestures etc (e.g. the way she waves and when she offered a handshake to Tong Liya, haha).

Still having some trouble getting over my aversion towards the 8th prince every time he's onscreen though. (I wish his character was another prince that I don't have a prior bias against! Ah well.) And it's weird how Qing Chuan is so adamant he becomes the emperor when she knows it's going to turn out badly. Does she actually think she can change history, or is the 4th prince just that horrible in this series?

I think the 4th prince in this series is evil. He stole the throne & kill all his brother include the 8th prince, if I remember correctly

Seriously not a fan of Yang Mi's singing but thankfully her voice in here isn't as squeaky & shrilly as how she usually sounds; i have a feeling that her voice is heavily edited in here. Am pretty surprised at how good Mickey He sounds!

I thought Yang Mi sounds pretty good here! Is it just me? I actually find the songs quite similar to Pretty Maid.

Mickey has a fantastic voice--I first heard him singing the ending theme of MRXJ and was very impressed, sounded like a professional singer. Most actors have very mediocre singing but Mickey, as well as Deng Chao, are exceptions. (Hu Ge is decent too I guess...can't think of any other actors/actresses whose singing I liked. Unless they were singer-turned-actors of course.)

And yeah, YM's voice is super auto-tuned in that song, it's especially obvious in certain parts to the point of distraction. I'd almost rather have "less perfect" singing over the autotune stuff. At any rate Yu Zheng should stop getting his leading ladies to sing the main theme songs, I would've enjoyed the MRXJ theme more if a professional singer did it (instead of Ruby's weak voice) and same goes for this series.
