    Default Chinese poems translations

Ancient Chinese poems are really beautiful and meaningful, but they are so "wordy" it can be difficult to understand them.

Does anyone know of any good translation sites where the poems are explained?

Can the explanations be in Chinese?

    Try:

    1. http://www.guxiang.com/shici/tangshi/index2.htm
if you are looking for numbered explanations of words, phrases and lines.

    2. http://www.sysu.edu.cn/poems/cc/f1.htm
if you are looking for an "overall/overview/gist" - type of explanation.

PS: Can't really say if these sites are "good", but the 1st site explains the poems in the same method as the books that I have. I find this method of explanation quite helpful.

Yep! The first site is helpful because it provides the explanations that I'd need.

The laptop at work can't read the second site so I will try it later at home.

I write stories now and then and thought it would be nice if I could incorporate Chinese poems into them, but it's so vexing because they can be hard to understand, so such sites will be very helpful for my ongoing and future works.

No explanations. But the translations make the meanings pretty clear.

Thanks, Dirt. English translations are equally helpful.
