Simon Yam and Lau Siu Ming (who famously portrayed Deun Yin Hing and 1 Deng the Monk in TVB's 1980s Jin Yong adaptations) are well-known actors to longtime TVB viewers, but beyond being great performers, both men have long been artists in different fields. Simon Yam, for example, is a photographer as well as an actor, and Lau Siu Ming was a dancer and dance instructor even before he began acting with TVB.

In this video series, Yam, Lau, and Hong Kong-based arts professor Dr. Dominic Lam discuss the importance of art in their lives, and the importance of arts in culture.

I think it's really cool to see these performers offering their views not as public celebrities, but as artists with a guiding sense of aesthetics.
