Default Why was Teen San Tung Lo away from Vulture Palace in such a vulnerable condition?

Teen San Tung Lo was spoken of, but not seen at the beginning of DGSD. One of the most powerful martial artists in the world, she seldom needed to personally leave Vulture Palace to manage her sect's affairs because she had numerous capable underlings to do the dirty work for her.

When Teen San Tung Lo finally did appear, she was in a vulnerable state. She was suffering from one of her periodic power losses when she would revert to a youthful appearance and lose much of her inner power.

That being the case...why was she out in the open during that time? Shouldn't Tung Lo have fortified herself in Vulture Palace during this period rather than wander out in wulin where she was vulnerable to Lee Chou Sui and her many other enemies?

She was kidnapped from within her palace by Wu Laodai. Is this another 1980's TVB 'innovation'?

In DGSD '81, Teen San Tung Lo first appeared when Hui Juk encountered her in the wilderness. She appeared to be ill. Big Boss Wu and his men *were* after her at the time, but what wasn't shown was how she had departed Vulture Palace in the first place.

Was it that easy to get into the Vulture Palace? Even without Teen San Tung Lo in top condition, her personnel at the palace should be adequate to repulse an attack by the 72 Island/36 Cave Dwellers, shouldn't they? Even with Mo Yung F'uk and Ding Chun Chou's help, laying siege to Vulture Palace was no cakewalk.

According to the novel, if I remember right, she fled the palace to find a place to hide because of her martial sister whose power is beyond anything her follower can fight against, not because of her rebellious islanders, cave dwellers.

she was hiding at a remote location at the back of the mountain because she reverted to her young form. but the cave leaders found her by accident and captured her. she knew her martial sister would come for her and was hiding out.
